Ina's tour of Brooklyn includes a Southern-style breakfast of Carolina grits with country ham and red-eye gravy at "Seersucker"; the secret to baking perfect baguettes at "Bien Cuit"; and lessons from a purveyor of ham and cheese.
Ina visits some New York hot spots. Included: she makes a sandwich at the "Meatball Shop"; eats fondue at "Café Select"; arranges flowers at the "All Good Things" market. Also, at home, cinnamon-baked donuts and coffee are prepared.
A trip to Brooklyn includes chopped liver at "Mile End Deli"; bratwurst at "Prime Meats"; and cheesecake at "Smorgasburg". At home, Ina makes French flageolet beans.
Ina learns restaurant secrets during her visit to the John Dory Oyster Bar, followed by a trip to the Standard Grill. She later meets the mastermind behind People's Pops; and joins Jeffrey for a lesson at Beecher's Handmade Cheese. Also: sidecar cocktails are prepared.
Giada De Laurentiis swaps recipes with Ina, including lobster-and-potato salad; mascarpone-and-lemon gnocchi with butter-thyme sauce; and a liqueur-laced chocolate-cassis cake.
Ina helps Tyler Florence bake a towering chocolate birthday cake for his son. Later, they visit a local farm to get ingredients for Tyler's signature fried chicken and Ina's winter slaw.
Ina serves up her favorite grilling recipes, including ones for breakfast. She also makes Tuscan lemon chicken; Indonesian grilled swordfish and sliders; corn on the cob; confetti corn; and panzanella.
Greek dishes are prepared, with assistance from Michael Symon, who cooks smoked pork ribs on the grill. Meanwhile, Ina prepares an easy tzatziki and spicy hummus for a meze platter.
