Conan finds a lead to the Black Organization when a murdered game programmer turns out to have had some connection to Tequila, the Organization member killed by a bomb some time earlier.
The police investigate a crime, while Conan attempts to steal a floppy disk. A forensic officer reveals that the body is missing a sock impression on the right ankle, this causes Conan to realize who the murderer is.
A professional wrestler is killed just as he is about to challenge a legendary wrestling champion, and video footage shows that the killer was wearing the champion's mask during the murder.
Conan becomes involved in the investigation of a serial arsonist known as "The Red Horse" who leaves behind red horse figurines in the buildings he burns down.
Conan, Agasa and the Detective Boys meet a group of college students while camping. The trip ends in disaster when one of the students dies in an apparent accident, but Conan suspects it to be a murder.
Stranded at a stranger's house along with Kogoro, Ran and Sonoko, Conan becomes suspicious of their host when his father is found hung in what appears to be a suicide.
