WaPo Bodensee

Mechthild deckt auf
Mechthild Fehrenbach actually only wanted to record a new entry for her video blog. But when she takes a closer look at the recording and discovers that someone on board a ship is writing HELP on the window with lipstick, she calls her daughter Nele. But she is in Hamburg for a training course and does not share Mechthild's suspicion that a crime is behind it. Mechthild is not put off by this, but she has to pull out all the stops until she has convinced her "colleagues" at WaPo-Bodensee that she is following a hot lead. After initial checks by the ship's owner Stephan Hambach and a visit on board the ship, there is initially nothing to indicate a crime. Mechthild was right. Sina Bredel, who has just been released from prison, still has a score to settle with the ship's owner and is threatening to destroy someone's life. While Jakob has his hands full trying to prevent the "Miss Marple of Lake Constance" from further investigations, Sina Bredel's ultimatum is heading for a deadly finale. Mechthild's life is in danger and Max experiences a surprise at Hambach's wife Katrin's house.

Mann im Kessel

Mon, Oct 25, 2021
The businessman Hannes Burchardt is found dead in the cabin of his yacht Constanza. Everything points to a carbon monoxide accident. But closer investigations reveal that he was murdered with dry ice. At first, all the evidence points to his wife Zola as the perpetrator, who wanted to separate and is now profiting from her husband's death. When Nele Fehrenbach's team questions Zola, Zola's lover, the organic farmer Michael Jungbluth, gets involved. He is convinced that both the murder and the investigation are part of a plot against Zola and him. The dead man is deeply involved in the local political network and has had shady dealings with the local political bigwig Götz Eberlein. When the police don't let up, a scandal ensues. Jungbluth and Zola manage to hijack a police boat to force Eberlein and his hard-working office manager Garber to confess. The police have to stop the raging Jungbluth. Thanks to Jakob's research on Burchardt's stolen laptop, it turns out that Burchardt actually put pressure on Eberlein with compromising information. Could the politician really have committed murder to protect himself from the discovery of an unpleasant truth? Meanwhile, Nele also has to support her son Niklas, who has fallen unhappily in love with an older girl. Nele is distraught, Mechthild shows a lot of understanding and Jakob can and must ultimately help.

Vergeltung

When the police find the body of a man who had been shot on a rowing boat, Nele immediately notices that this case is particularly affecting Paul. Paul knows the dead man. He is a convicted robber and murderer... Rudi Maschke robbed a bank 15 years ago. The loot of one million euros remained missing. A security guard was killed in the process, leaving behind two children. Paul was involved in the operation at the time. Did Maschke want to go to his ex-girlfriend Maria Ansböck after his release to get his share of the loot? Maria had split up with Rudi immediately after the robbery and now runs a café on the island of Reichenau. The accomplice at the time, Robin Steffens, who only served seven years and had just returned from Switzerland impoverished, would also have a motive. But they arrive too late, he too is found dead. And suddenly Paul himself is in danger. But Paul offers Niklas, who has to write an essay for class, a template on the topic of courage. Grandma Mechthild and Nele had previously argued about the issue because of their different opinions.

Family Business

Mon, Nov 15, 2021
It is a nightmare for businessman Alexander Pachmann. Two masked burglars force him to open the safe in his villa and hand over money and valuables worth almost 100,000 euros. During the manhunt that is immediately launched, Julia and Jakob discover a young fisherman in a rubber dinghy. Clemens Schnitte has a few previous convictions but at first glance neither loot nor motive. Nele and Paul's efforts to convict Clemens anyway end with Clemens' foster aunt Evi, who runs a carpentry shop and protects her nephew like a mother. But then more and more inconsistencies emerge. Pachmann fled from Berlin to Lake Constance to avoid bankruptcy and then the police find Freddy Burger's body in the lake. The second perpetrator? When the police realize that Schnitte will also soon go bankrupt, it is almost too late. The surprising showdown is a matter of life and death... Another unexpected side that Nele and her mother Mechthild discover in Niklas is that he has bought an old armchair that he wants to refurbish as a vintage piece. While restoring it, the student comes across a large sum of DM. He quickly finds out that the money comes from an old robbery.

Die Dahlienkönigin
The summer idyll shortly before the election of the Dahlia Queen on the island of Mainau is abruptly interrupted. Nele interrupts the technical discussion that her mother Mechthild is having with the island's owner Count Bernadotte. Bernadotte's head gardener Sven Gallus is pulled dead from the water not far from the island. It soon becomes clear that Gallus has been poisoned. The deadly and difficult to detect poison is extracted from the fruit of the castor oil plant, of which there is a specimen on the island of Mainau. The officials learn this from the introverted trainee Denise Munk, who soon comes under suspicion: Gallus apparently had problems with her, especially since the woman with a criminal record only got the job as part of her probation. Did Gallus want to fire Denise and that's why she poisoned him? Gallus' partner, the cook Cornelia Hegemann, is convinced of this, because losing her apprenticeship would have meant that Denise would have had to serve her prison sentence. Hegemann's son Philipp is clearly in love with Denise, who flees before being arrested by Julia Demmler. The circle of suspects is expanded when the police find out that Gallus grew a very special type of dahlia. His inconspicuous "Hilde" had a very tasty tuber and was worth half a million euros to an investor... Does Gallus' closest colleague Martin Proschalla know more than he admits? When Mechthild is finally knocked down in her private greenhouse and "Hilde" is stolen, Nele feels the ground pulled out from under her feet. She had previously argued loudly with Paul about the research. And now Denise is on the run again.

Seitenstechen

Mon, Nov 29, 2021
The morning's test of strength while kayaking on Lake Constance ends with a terrible discovery for Jakob and Niklas. Suddenly they have to have a competitive swimmer who had just swam past them recovered dead from the lake. The dead man is Phillip Guldenstein. The eldest offspring of a wealthy business dynasty. For Nele, the investigation initially takes a pleasant course. The Guldenstein family runs a horse stud farm - and Nele immediately becomes friends with the old stable master Alma Bading. But the dead Philip's two siblings have also recently met at the family home. A swimming competition between him and his brother Justus was supposed to determine who would inherit the extremely rich inheritance. Jenny Guldenstein would have largely come away empty-handed after this legacy. She lives mostly in Canada anyway. Jakob's heart almost stops when he sees her. At 17, he was totally in love with Jenny... When Mechthild comes up with more information about Philip's mother's accidental death, Nele realizes that they have stirred up a hornet's nest. This can be taken quite literally. Because Philip died of an allergic shock after being stung by a wasp. Soon the siblings no longer make any effort to hide the fact that they have very different plans for the property. Philip had wanted to build on it, Justus needed money and Jenny seems to have felt disadvantaged for years. After a break-in at the stables in which the semen of the breeding stallion, worth several thousand euros, is stolen, things come to a head. A ride by Nele with Justus only brings them a little closer to the truth. In the end, it is thanks to Paul's speed and determination that a life is saved.

Töte mich

Mon, Dec 13, 2021
Julia and Paul find traces of a fight and blood on an abandoned yacht. Strangely, the extremely unpleasant owner of the yacht, Simon Kohnert, shows little interest in solving the case. This makes Nele suspicious, especially since the owner's wife, Miriam Kohnert, remains missing. It quickly becomes clear that Simon Kohnert suffers from pathological jealousy, had his wife followed by a private detective and regularly beat her. When Jakob then also investigates that Kohnert has gambling debts and a large life insurance policy on his wife, which will be paid out even if she disappears without a trace, everything seems obvious. Nevertheless, Nele does not trust the clues. Everything fits too well. In addition, the doctor Pia Bercheim, the reason for Kohnert's jealousy, has a turbulent past. When Benjamin Weiss shows up at the police station and describes how Simon and his wife had argued before they went on the yacht, the police have enough information to search the house of the public prosecutor for Simon Kohnert. But he surprises Paul when he has nothing left to lose. Paul has to watch helplessly as Kohnert flees... Meanwhile, Niklas is cooking up his own little scheme. An internet acquaintance urgently needs a medicine that is only available on the darknet. Grandma Mechthild enthusiastically helps her grandson organize bitcoins and has no idea that he is falling into a trap. An old colleague alerts Nele to her son's activities.

Stunde der Wahrheit
The ferry "Konstanz" leaves the harbor seven minutes early. On board: Captain Heiler, who has released all other crew members, and Nele and Julia, who were lured on board under a pretext. Among the other passengers are the two high school students Maxim and Torben. After an announcement it becomes clear: All passengers are doomed to die if the captain does not get her way. At the end of her rampage, Sabine Heiler will ram the harbor wall in Konstanz with a ton of liquid gas on board if the two high school students do not confess the truth about the death of her son Nils first. He is said to have accidentally fallen out of the fifth floor window during the school trip. Torben's father, a feared criminal defense attorney, has ensured that the investigation is stopped. While Nele tries to gain the captain's trust, Paul races up with the "Bodan 3" to secure the ferry's path. At the same time, he has the waterfront in Konstanz evacuated. The two students on board don't want to tell Nele the truth. So Jakob and Mechthild's hopes are resting on Niklas. He is supposed to infiltrate a chat group that has bullied Nils. Niklas is successful. But his information seems to come too late. In dire need, Julia reveals a surprising new side.

Die Frau im Wald
Julia actually just wanted to practice shooting in peace with the Seeschützen and maybe drink a cup of tea or two with the nice Hamburg merchant's son Damian Wendt, when she noticed how an argument escalated: the activist Lutz Bremer was stopped and taken away by the caretaker Karen Moll on the Seeschützen's premises. When the police found Bremer shot dead in Lake Constance shortly afterwards, the dead man was carrying a mysterious soil sample with him. Karen Moll had suddenly disappeared. Julia found the heavily armed woman in the forest, where she was hiding from the approaching police. Jakob and Nele penetrate deeper and deeper into the milieu of amateur and sports shooters. The owner of the property, Tilo von Hofstätter, soon came under suspicion. Did he want to prevent Bremer from making the lead contamination of the property public? Or is the planned expressway to Konstanz more important? In any case, Hofstätter has long since switched to alternative, lead-free ammunition. The role played by Bremer's girlfriend Miriam Lind is also unclear. She knows Karen Moll from before. Julia realises far too late that she has been caught in the crossfire of a perfidious game. She is literally running for her life.
