WaPo Bodensee

Der Tote im Kajak
Canoe polo is a sport for well-trained daredevils like Paul Schott. When he takes part in a tournament on Lake Constance, his colleague Julia and Nele cheer him on with their children Johanna, Niklas and his friend Josh. But the enthusiasm turns to horror when an opposing player floats dead, headfirst, in his kayak... Paul, of all people, now blames himself badly for having attacked his opponent hard beforehand. However, the forensic medicine points to a new clue: the dead man had poison in his drinking bottle, which manipulates his sense of balance. But the motive is missing: did Noah's friend Josh really want to poison the math teacher because of the threat of bad grades? There are also lots of dead fish floating in Lake Constance. Nele soon identifies the solar module manufacturer Yannik Sattmann as the culprit. It is piquant that the committed canoe polo player is arguing loudly with Arne Holtkamp in the club. But a completely different abyss opens up for Nele. Their daughter Johanna is going to New Zealand for a year. Niklas is therefore already looking forward to life as an "only child".

But Nele Fehrenbach has her son Niklas, who is taking part in an excursion with his art teacher Aline Schöttler called "Magical Morning Light" and is achieving such good results that the local newspaper reports on it with photos. Are the pictures so beautiful that Aline Schöttler's house is broken into and only the results of the excursion are stolen? Or do the pictures inadvertently contain the secret of Nadja Koch's murder? Because her husband Lars may have an alibi for the time of the crime, but he also has a secret lover, his colleague Jana Raspe. He allegedly wanted to separate from her in favor of his wife Nadja. This was where goods and wanted mafiosi could be smuggled from Switzerland to Germany under the eyes of corrupt officials. When the head of the Konstanz Criminal Investigation Department, Gregor Heitmann, gets involved, it is clear that there must be other moles on the police side. Is Nele's friend Adrian Aubry one of them? He desperately protests his innocence. But the clues lead to him. When the only witness who could supposedly exonerate him, his boss Rita Neuhaus, is found shot dead - Aubry's fingerprints are found on the murder weapon - his game is over.
