Nel and Leo are in England, Govert and Marjolein in America and Thijs is at home where he is renting the bulk of the house to an American family so he can have it remodeled. Babbete comes over looking for Simon.
Simon is suicidal again. Nel is lifting her way home from England after Leo was arrested there. Govert is being stalked by a woman from the airplane and Thijs opts to help Babbette find Simon.
Nel and her entire family are starring in a comedic play written by bestselling writer Floris Drempel. They receive good reviews based on the fact that most of them were drinking real alcohol during their performance.
Thijs is convinced he has the talent to become an actor. Nel and Govert are being stalked, by Gea and Ingeborg respectively. Delivery man Fred Bonkers, who never fail to use the Van der Hoek toilet, offers to replace their rare toilet pot.
Henkie Born, Paul Mastenbroek and Anton Plantinga join forces to swindle Govert and Ingeborg. Nel finds herself short on money. Gerard on the other hand has so much he doesn't know how to spend it all.
Fred Bonkers brings over a toilet pot, followed closely by Mrs. Flinterman who claims it for herself. Simon has picked a fight with Floris Drempel at Hetty's housewarming party. This resulted in her booking Boudewijn Buch and going on a trip with him.
Danny wants to be Simons son again. Thijs has been working himself through study books and now expects to get a certificate. Maria and Elsje and their young owners Anneke & Esmeralda come over to visit.
Wanda has left Gerard for her ex Bob Waanders once more. Govert learns that Born, Mastenbroek & Plantinga have sold Ingeborg's building to Gerard at a profit for them and a loss for him.
Thijs has organized a big meeting for the benefit of the environment. Fred Bonkers visits psychiatrist Flinterman, but only to ask him for advice. Ingeborg Kuyten then mistakes Fred for Flinterman.
Hetty returns unexpectedly, while Simon is still in the Molton Hotel with Babette. Simon hurts his leg climbing in through the window, and as Hetty and Babette cat fight, Marion (who also loves him) arrives to clean the house. Amatuer psychiatrist Bonkers turns out to have more problems than originally thought.
Nel has decided to move out of the house and live with Jacob in Wateringen. Bert Stompelmans comes by to claim Danny and learns that Simon is the boys real father. Nel advises the troubled Henk Born to give up being a lawyer. Simon loses both Hetty and Babette to Huub Stapel.
Marjolein returns from the States just as Govert wants to move in with Ingeborg. Thijs announces his engagement to Willeke, who has become a full partner in Born's law firm. Marion reveals she has had a love child with Simon. As the American family moves into the Van der Hoed home, Simon is the only one without a place to stay. He takes his mother's unpublished novel to the VPRO to see if they can make a sitcom out of it.
