Compo's favorite ferret has escaped not just from its cage, but from his house and he suspects that it is in Wally & Nora Batty's place but Nora won't let Compo anywhere near the place to look. How will he ever get it back?
Foggy feels the need to do something special for the Queen's Jubilee so he volunteers himself, Clegg, and Compo to help with the towns pageant/parade ... Now if only they can find someone who can drive a tractor
After attending a funeral of an old friend Clegg tries to convince Foggy & Compo that flowers have emotions and that they react to vocal tone and music; Compo has a new plan for driving Nora into his arms
Foggy is off in Wales visiting his lady-friend who lives with her Mother-in-law for a fortnight. Compo suggests to rent a car with Clegg driving with Compo, Sid, and Ivy (who wants to visit her sister) up to meet her, but he manages to break Foggy's foot; the mother-in-law prefers Compo over Foggy.
It's an incredibly warm Christmas season but Nora is very sad - her brother Billy in Australia isn't expected to see another Christmas - So Foggy decides to send a home movie to him of one.
Foggy feels threatened by Norman and Compo's old friend Amos, who is as great a blow-hard as himself. There is some concern that Amos may be back in the village to rob the bank.
Norman, Foggy and Compo are spending Christmas together and none of them are merry. Sid and Ivy, Nora and Wally Batty, have their relatives over to dinner.
