Frosty Slide for 8 Red Coins - No Joystick Allowed
I collect the star Frosty Slide for 8 Red Coins in Cool, Cool Mountain without using the joystick. This star was very annoying to TAS, since Mario has to traverse such great distances to reach each red coin. Consequently, I've fast-forwarded through the repetitive parts for your viewing pleasure.

The Tip Top of the Huge Island - No Joystick Allowed
I collect the star The Tip Top of the Huge Island in Tiny-Huge Island without using the joystick. I've fast-forwarded through repetitive parts for your viewing pleasure. I originally didn't think any stars were possible in this course, but then theorized a technique to cross the windy gap, and so I gained access to the mainland of the large island.

Overextended Seesaw Platform Glitch (Part 2)
Since my first Overextended Seesaw Platform Glitch video I've learned that I missed a couple platforms. And so, here is part 2, where I investigate those platforms, as well as shed some light on why 270 degrees is the maximum you can rotate a seesaw platform.

Red Coins on the Floating Isle - No Joystick Allowed
I collect the star Red Coins on the Floating Isle in Whomp's Fortress without using the joystick. I originally thought this one impossible, since I didn't know of any way to get onto the floating isles. But then after a lot of testing, I figured out a way, so enjoy.

The Science of Cloning
I've finally figured out how cloning really works, and do my best to explain it. This is a very complicated matter to discuss, so I try to use as many visuals as I can to aid in the discussion. Hopefully, cloning won't be such a mysterious glitch anymore.

Quadruple Star Activation
I activate 4 separate stars at once. Usually in speed runs, it saves time to activate 2 stars at once (often the 100 coin star and red coin star). This time, I took it 2 steps further - activating FOUR stars at once. I believe this is the only part of the game where you can do this, and that you can't activate more than four at once.

Quadruple Star Activation
This video is an improvement from my previous video. The difference is that I added an extra clip at the end, which shows something weird that happened, namely that I got control over Mario during a star cut scene. I believe the reason for this is that I first activated 3 stars at once, namely the 100 coin star and the Bully stars. Note that the 100 coin star cut scene is shorter than the Bully star cut scenes. Once the 100 coin star cut scene ended, the red coin star cut scene started. Moments later when the Bully star cut scenes ended, the game returned control to Mario (as it does at the end of a cut scene), but this is unusual since it is during a separate cut scene. Anyway, I used this to show that the star isn't actually tangible until it stops bouncing. I don't know if this would actually be useful for anything.

Attacking/Respawning a Swooper Glitch
In my latest attempt to find an infinite coin glitch, I simultaneously attack and respawn a Swooper. This has the unusual effect of killing the Swooper in its starting location, but it does not yield infinite coins. I do not know if this is possible to do in in regular SM64 (as opposed to multiplayer SM64), but since it doesn't produce infinite coins, I don't think it's worth looking into.

Seek the 8 Red Coins - 1.5x A Presses
I collect the star Seek the 8 Red Coins in Big Boo's Haunt using 1.5 A presses. The first A press is to allow for little kicks to be done, which assists in collecting the 2 red coins on top of the bookshelves. Specifically, these kicks allow me to bounce on the Boos consistently enough to transport them, move while facing a specific direction, and jump without needing enough speed to dive. The second A press is to jump from the top of the staircase to the second floor.

The Mystery Goomba
While playing around on SM64, I noticed something peculiar. There's a pair of Goombas in Bowser in the Sky that, when loaded, causes three objects to load. The first and second of these objects are the two Goombas, but the third one seems to be another Goomba that's not detectable in any other way. This mystery Goomba seems to have all the properties of a regular Goomba, though I cannot figure out where it's located, or if it even exists the way a normal Goomba does. Things get creepily philosophical by the end of the video..

The Mystery Goomba SOLVED
The case of the mystery Goomba has been solved. As we hypothesized, the mystery Goomba spawns off the edge, and so he starts on the death barrier way below. I manage to catch a glimpse of him at the first possible frame that he loads, and so I show this in the video. Unfortunately, it is not possible to interact with the mystery Goomba, since it would unload as you tried to get close enough to see him.

Big Boo's Balcony - 2x A Presses
I collect the star Big Boo's Balcony in Big Boo's Haunt using 2 A presses. This video is an improvement from my previous video. I didn't actually save any A presses since then - I just wanted to redo it in better quality since this is probably my favorite ABC star.

Through the Jet Stream - 1x A Presses
I collect the star Through the Jet Stream in Jolly Roger Bay using 1 A press. The A press is to jump to the star inside the jet stream. Note that if I simply waited out the Metal Cap directly under the star, I would be pushed out sideways, and thus I would not collect the star.

Metal-Head Mario Can Move! - 2x A Presses
I collect the star Metal-Head Mario Can Move in Hazy Maze Cave using 2 A Presses. The first A press is to long jump across the second gap leading up to the star. The second A press is to jump up to collect the star.

Plunder in the Sunken Ship - 0.5x A Presses
I collect the star Plunder in the Sunken Ship in Jolly Roger Bay using 0.5 A presses. The A press is so that I can do a little kick into the wall of the ship, allowing me to fall down near the star box.

Coins Amassed in a Maze - 1x A Presses
I collect the star Coins Amassed in a Maze in Rainbow Ride using 1 A press. The A press to get past the large glass box that the carpet passes through. This is necessary so that I can ride the carpet long enough to get to the top of the red coin maze. From there, I descend the maze strategically so as to collect every red coin.

Tricky Triangles! - 1x A Presses
I collect the star Tricky Triangles in Rainbow Ride using 1 A press. This video is an improvement from my previous video. I didn't actually save any A presses since then, I just redid it in better quality.

The Big House in the Sky - 3x A Presses
I collect the star The Big House in the Sky in Rainbow Ride using 3 A presses. The first A press is to jump over the second glass box that the carpet goes through. The second and third A presses are to jump over the wooden platforms that the carpet goes through while going around the house.

The 255 Coin Limit
In this video, I explain everything there is to know about the 255 coin limit and the 999 coin limit. Within a course, your coin score can go up to 999 and will then stop. But when it saves, it will only save the lower 8 bits of your coin score, and so the coin score that gets saved is your coin score within the course modulo 256. Consequently, the maximum coin score that can be saved is 255. I then go through the courses and explain what the maximum coin score would be within each of them.

Collecting the Impossible Coin
And let it be known that on June 12th, 2014 at 2:26 AM (EST), I, Pannenkoek2012, collected the impossible coin. You see, when you exit water from the side, there's a single frame when Mario is able to jump. I take advantage of this by jumping and kicking in order to move myself towards the coin and collect it. I dedicate this video to MisterMonopoli, who recognized me on his Twitch stream and subsequently tasked with collecting the impossible coin. Well, there ya go. Also, shout-out to Sonicpacker for explaining some helpful TAS strategies, which ultimately led to the strategy I used in this video.

Transport Clones
I show a new cloning technique, which I call transport cloning. You've seen me use this already for my ABC of Bowser in the Sky and Bowser in the Fire Sea, but now I explain it in depth. Essentially, if you release the clone of an enemy (usually a Goomba) that's being pushed by another enemy (usually a Koopa or another Goomba), then this glitch will occur. Instead of the clone appearing in front of Mario and the pusher remaining in place, both of them will transport to a third location. This location is midway between Mario's position and the enemies' position.
