Jan and Glyn Grayson are fed up with their hectic life, especially Glyn, who has endured a 3 hour 250 mile round trip to work from Chesterfield every day for ten years. Glyn hardly sees his family and daughter Lydia, and plans to renovate a large run down farmhouse near Snelston in the heart of Derbyshire. It cost nearly £600.000 and Glyn has a budget of £250,000. They hope to finish the project in six months in time for Christmas but they have no planning permission and the local planning office has a number objections which can only add further delays, costs, and a strain on both Glyn and Jan. Can they manage even though Glyn is still continuing with his gruelling working schedule.
