The Nostalgia Critic summons all his Channel Awesome "buddies" to embark with him on a quest to uncover an ancient treasure. So they dress up as various fantasy characters and set off in two separate paths. Meanwhile, a mysterious man wearing all black seems to be watching them.

Part II finds the Nostalgia Critic's team pitted against a flamboyant cat puppet appropriately named Cat and its irate puppeteer, while Spoony's team come across three mysterious cloaked figures called The Cloaks.

In Part III, The Nostalgia Critic's team comes across a chair sitting in the road, which the Critic promptly calls dibs on and sits. As he relaxes in the suspicious chair, the Critic reveals a little more than everyone else cared to know, while the others battle the Cloaks on the battlefield (playground).

Suburban Knights: Part IV
Part IV finds The Nostalgia Critic's team against the sweet yet sinister Witch Warrior, while the others lose their map and get directions from The Gatecleaner. In the process, they come across the Cloaks again and Film Brain is captured.

In Part V, The Nostalgia Critic's team finally uncovers Chuck Jaffers, who reveals even more about the lost gauntlet, and they all wonder if this quest was even worth the bother; Film Brain is recovered, while Malachite closes in on our heroes.

Both teams finally find a lead on Malachite's gauntlet, only to find out it was buried right back where they started. The Nostalgia Critic's team discover what appears to be the gauntlet, only to find themselves surrounded by the Cloaks, Chuck Jaffers, Cat and the Witch Warrior. Thankfully the other team arrives in time and they all engage in an epic, hilarious joust.

Following his Let's Play of Bart's Nightmare, The Nostalgia Critic has come under scrutiny from his "adoring" fans who have had him incarcerated in an Internet state penitentiary. In attempt to regain his fan base, The Critic agrees to do a positive review for "James and the Giant Peach", despite actually disliking the film, and is held at gun point under the threat of being shot if he dares point out any flaws. He goes on to ridicule the song lyrics, the questionable disappearance of James' parents via a wild rhino, and many other story elements that are never really addressed.Overall, he feels it isn't the worst film he's ever seen and deems it acceptable.
