Chris Storm, while taking a couple of days' holiday in Zurich, receives a phone call from a woman, whose voice evokes more memory than mystery for him, asking him for a date. However, when Chris reaches the address she has given him, he is drawn into a police raid on the apartment. It is filled with stolen furs. Penolope, the woman in question, is alone in the flat awaiting the arrival of the police and Chris. She has also phoned the insurance company, a representative of whom arrives at the flat at the same time. The fur thieves have escaped, but Penolope knows who the youngest of them is. She is given a reward from the insurance representative, which she takes to the young thief's mother in order that she can afford to educate him and for him to leave his life of crime. After their date, Chris loses contact with Penelope, who has gone to Vienna. However, the two older fur thieves follow her there. Chris also returns to Vienna, where Penelope meets him in his Frontier Hotel apartment. She then lures the two thieves, who have come to the Frontier Hotel to kill Chris, up to his apartment, after asking Chris how much cash he has in his safe. They steal the money and Penelope apparently shoots Chris dead in order that they can escape. However, Penelope aims wide, deliberately missing Chris and, after they have gone, he phones the police to capture the two men at the airport and to protect Penelope, who ultimately returns the stolen money to Chris.
