Our New Boat

Sun, Jul 13, 2014
Greg gives a quick recap of our newest team member. Our support boat. Now we have a place to sleep, recharge, eat, use the facilities, and gather resources. The boat is a very big step for the team and now there's just one small hitch . . . we have to figure out how to use it. PK knows a lot about boats and Greg is a genius with engines so we have a pretty good starting position.

Testing the Fuel Sending Unit
Greg gives us a quick lesson on testing for an electrical signal. Our Fuel Sending Unit isn't getting power which means our fuel gauge is not giving us correct readings. Greg has been looking up how sending units work and knows that the boat moving around means the sensor has to work in a special way to gauge what is happening in the fuel tank.

Liberty Cup Set Up
Take a quick peak of us setting up at the Dockside Restaurant in Colonial Beach. We were enjoying the weather and all the people attending the Liberty Cup Jet Ski Races. Kathy joined us for the weekend as a support driver and all of us had a great time learning little bits of trivia and day to day tricks to help make jet ski trips more enjoyable.

The Health of a Warrior
PK talks briefly about some of his injuries and how he keeps moving forward. Some days are a struggle while others are much better. This is a big weekend which will likely leave him exhausted and unable to move for the following week but he knows how important it is that everyone see us and how we work together as a team.

Gettin Things Done
Greg is expanding his mechanical expertise from jet skis and boats. He's definitely have a good time with it. Pignone is getting into Twitter and Social Media and seems to be enjoying the lessons he's getting from Erika about it. And Erika is highlighting all the action with photos and video getting everything online so the team can be followed easier.

The Tao of the Jet Ski
Take Point Now is on the water. We're preparing for five world records and training with Wounded Warriors all along the Eastern Coast. We have adapted jet skis that can be ridden by amputees and paralyzed riders so that all veterans can join their family and friends on the water. Always remember . . alone I am nothing . . together we are everything. Strong Veterans equal Strong Communities!.

Holiday Video

Sun, Dec 21, 2014
Take Point Now is out on our boat, Resilient, in the cold of December. Every day we're getting closer to our goals of breaking world records and getting veterans out onto the water. PK was super sick but Greg and Erika prop him up long enough to be in our video. This is one of those days that we title "PK needs adult supervision." Usually it's Erika who winds up with that task but today Greg was around to help out with it. Never give up. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year. Take Point Now.

Launching Defender
Take Point Now is #LaunchingDefender. Our IndieGogo Campaign is in full swing to create our second jet ski prototype for injured and disabled riders. This prototype was designed by PK and the team to be used by a rider with any type of hand or arm injury. The joy stick allows the rider to steer with one one arm. Follow our journey breaking world records and getting wounded veterans back into a team dynamic, "Alone I am nothing, together we are everything."

On the Move

Sat, Jun 20, 2015
Packing up gear and launching jet skis. Take Point Now is on the move. We've finally accomplished getting our set up for a ride down to a science. Erika has extensive checklist, which the military trained guys love, and we all have figured out all the little things we need to do to have smooth and fun rides.

The View From the Bow
The view from the nose of a jet ski. Washington DC. Erika has been finding different, and sometimes strange, places to put cameras on the skis. They can look out in any direction and either film the rider, the wingman, or the scenery. It's been difficult to find good mounting positions being that the engine rumbles quite intensely and the cameras can't be on a location that is shaking.

Marines and PWC's
How many Marines does it take to air out a jet ski? The guys still find ways of amusing themselves even with something as simple as airing out the skis to clear the entire ski of any type of fuel fumes. Whether or not we've aired them out is a good indicator as to how close we actually are to getting the skis into the water.
