Pirate captain Piet forbids Seven, whose uncle sent him a cool set of colorful bricks, to play with them until his ship cleaning chores are done. Berend and Stien catch Piet playing with the set himself, but eagerly accept to keep that silent if they can play too. Steven is shocked when he finds out after his chores.

Pirate captain Piet asks the crew-mates for help as he's having trouble to wake up in the morning. Berend and the others each come up with a nasty method: a loud bell, a bucket or cutting down his hammock. Having rejected those, he forbids them to 'help' anymore and is so terrified that he stays awake all night.

Mute sailor Steven is tired of being made fun of as a relative weakling. Cook Berend presents a method to 'grow balls'. They embark on the weird practice, which lands Steven in a pot of mud, before they realize it's hardening instructions for bulbs.

Pirate captain Piet orders the crew-mates to take nocturnal watch turns at the helm while the ship passes the dangerous Tocky Sea. Berend and Stien do well, but Steven is very sleepy. Piet has to check up and wake him repeatedly, but ends up dozing off himself. Only a mosquito now still bothers Steven's dangerous slumber.

Pirate captain Piet has business ashore all day but doesn't want the crew-mates to know and neglect their jobs, so he fakes a facial wound requiring full bandaging gets eager Berend to dress up as captain and pretend to be Piet. But they are overheard by the others, who gruesomely abuse 'captain' Berend until Piet returns.

Piet and the mates laugh at Stien who bought a 'flying carpet', which of course doesn't work. Steven helps her to get even by making Berend and Piet believe it really flies, so Piet will buy it.

Piet has caught a turtle and orders Berend to serve it as dinner. Steven quickly got attached to it and refuses to let his 'pet' be eaten. Cook Berend however locks himself in to cook turtle soup.

Pirate Piet found the treasure map of captain Scheurbuik ('scurvy') and decides to hide it too well: locked in his cabinet, after one crew member memorizes it, another instructed to hide the key where nobody can access it. Alas, the first forgets the details, second Berend couldn't think of a safe hiding place and threw the key in the sea. It's up to Steven and his saw to open the cabinet.

It's the ship's tenth anniversary, so Piet plans a surprise party. Pretending the big cake if for him alone renders the crewmen jealous. While he goes buy party decoration, Piet confides in Steven so he can guard the cake, which requires a fake poison sign and improvisation.

The crewmen are puzzled by the sounds from Stien's cabin, suggesting she wants to leave the ship and live on desert island. It turns out she's reading aloud from a book, so they play desert island with her. Once the charm is broken, another surprise awaits.

On April Fools day, his crewmen manage to take the mickey out of captain Piet repeatedly. Frustrated, he swears to get back at them and seeks inspiration in a pranks book. Having set fire to his cabin, he panics and is not believed until they see nasty smoke.

Piet brings a fellow captain's two puppies for the crew to dog-sit. They are white, adorable and almost indistinguishable, apart from a mark in the ears, and named Binnen ('inside') and Buiten ('outside'). Piet and the dog-sitters constantly bicker which pup has been taken in- or outside, even after Steven discovers their names on the collars.

Pirate captain Piet finds to his horror that his ship is closed in by frozen sea. Berend is in the port to buy provisions, so fearing his cook won't be able to return with food, Piet imposes draconian rations. Luckily, Berend knows to make use of the advantages of ice.

Pirate captain Piet has taken up badminton, but practices only with Stien. Sailor Steven only gets to play against cook Berend, but his brutish way is so insufferable that he ends up pretending to swallow the shuttlecock. When Piet returns, he believes Steven in danger of suffocation.

Pirate captain Piet and the other crew-mates are bothered by Steven's body odor, but he refuses to take a bath. Luring him with a 'surprise' fails last minute, so a more elaborate ruse is required. Piet installs a slide, which everyone enjoys coming down. Next, Piet challenges the mate to try it blindfolded.

Piet and Berend are delighted with the picture of a monkey which Steven paints. It gets even better when Steven thinks of cutting out the head, so the crew members can put their own in. Alas, chubby cook Berend gets stuck. It has to be smashed into pieces, but that also has a positive side.

Piet and his crew shiver in icy weather, complete with snow. They decide to build an igloo on the lower deck as shelter, but it's too small to fit everyone. Steven draws the shortest straw, so he remains outside, sheltered only by a wooden pirate chest. The tricks suggested by Piet to keep or thinks warm don't help, but he is treated to a wet sight in the morning.

Berend is too sick to cook. Piet sends him to bed, but the crew-mates' attempts to cook only end in disabling accidents due to a bad batch, clumsiness and even fire. Berend gets better and his porridge helps the others heal.

Pirate captain Piet is getting hoarse from shouting orders to the other crew-mates. Berend invents a communication system using tubs and funnels throughout the ship. Alas for mute sailor Steven, he can't use it but is ordered around by all the others at distance worse then ever.

Pirate Piet promised his pirate uncle to mind his parrot Cricrac for a week. The whole crew accepts to help, but tending to ship business forget about him until they notice the bird is missing. To cover up, Steven makes a stuffed parrot while they search, but Piet bumps into both.

Pirate captain Piet is not impressed when a crew member brings aboard a 'boomerang', unknown to him, which seems not to work but cause only trouble and injury to Brened and Steven. Ultimately he orders is thrown overboard, only to reconsider when it returns.

Pirate Piet got a tuba to play at the pirates ball and forbids the crew-mates to come near it, but Steven can't resist a quick toot and is caught. As punishment, he's forbidden to attend the costumed sailors ball. He makes a dummy to take his place and sneaks out in his old banana costume.

Pirate captain Piet bought a Chinese vase for his mother, but is afraid it may break during transport, so klutzy Brend and Stien must be kept away, only Steven seems trustworthy. Rather then taking risks, he makes Steven travel along in the crate. Steven returns with an unfortunate reward.

When the whole pirate ship crew has a day off, both captain Piet and cook Berend hears Stien swoon about marriage in her cabin. they assume it must be a proposal from Steven and set out to celebrate with cake. The truth is less romantic, or actually just that.

So Berend comes up with a ruse, pretending he knows a magic trick (cheating with Steven's switching-help) to magnify objects tenfold.

Pirate Piet realizes the ship has no life boats, so he constructs a raft to serve as such. The next day, the whole crew does a shipwreck exercise. Alas, nobody brought no food, water or ores, so they realize their fate would still have been slow starvation at sea. That motivates proper preparedness.
