Sainte-Rose and Crivelli face the death of a journalist specialized in paranormal events who was investigating a Dorlis, a spirit that sexually assaults women on new moon nights.
A young soldier who had recently joined the army is murdered during a training exercise. Sainte-Rose and Crivelli both take charge of the investigation and suspect that she might have be trying to escape the island because she was not accepted by everyone in the Company. Their investigations take them into somewhat minefields, because the soldiers and the officers refuse to cooperate.
Lucas, Mélissa's son, is left for dead after a man shoots him. Despite being removed from the investigation, Mélissa looks for who could have wanted to kill her son and sadly discovers that, in order to get money, he participated in a vast scam.
