Sequence of Events: Part 1
Manson visits Vince Parker in prison to take his confession of murder back in 1984. He claims he wasn't charged at the time due to a bent DC called Jack Meadows who lost the evidence for a backhander. Jack is also visiting the prison to see his son Ben. Reg and June attends a break in at Laura Meadows house when Reg is hit in the face by the intruder escaping. DCI Frank Keane wants to investigate the claims against Jack. Jack makes an urgent call to meet up with his old boss Dougie Price. Manson is worried when it looks like Jack is guilty. Sam and Mickey interview Ben Meadows over a connection to recent robbery bashings.

Sequence of Events: Part 2
Mickey and Sam visit Ben in prison after he's been severely bashed. Meadows is furious with Dougie when he admits to taking the bribe back in 1984. DCI Keane is determined to make a case against Meadows and Price. Vince's son Andy is behind the burglaries and bashings. Jack arranges a meet with Neil to tell him the truth.

A Problem Multiplied
Roger and new PC Lewis deal with a woman called Leanne who has been threatened by a man with a dirty needle. Leanne confirms there is a smack problem on the Coal Lane Estate that needs sorting out. Saul needs Ramani and Terry's help when one of the youths is threatened with a gun at the basketball courts in Canley Fields. Terry is very uptight around Saul. Will is trying to find a room to rent not knowing Dan has one available. Okaro starts looking into the drug problem when Leanne dumps a box full of needles at the front desk. Ramani and Saul are assaulted and told to back off. Emma and Leela deal with Leanne again when she is accused of stabbing a neighbor with a needle. Lewis is required to go undercover to catch the drug dealers when Okaro mounts an operation. Emma helps Will secure Dan's room to rent.

Street Level Action
Phil and Terry deal with an assault on shopkeeper Mr Conway who's dog has been shot. Louise Larson is nervous about giving evidence against her violent husband. June deals with a rape victim called Dee which she had helped previously and is now feeling reluctant that the trial is starting. Susie and June get worried when Dee doesn't turn up at court. Ramani helps Phil and Terry finds the robbers and the sun machine gun. Honey and Will find Dee's flat trashed and Dee tells them her husband did it. Ramani assists in a raid managing to subdue the robber. Phil tells Cindy they can try IVF again. Smithy tells Louise they will disappear after the trial.

A Satisfying Day's Work
Smithy comforts Louise before the trial. Laura and Smithy accompany a passive drug sniffing dog. When the dog alerts to a bystander they claim the drugs belong to his flat mate. As June supports Dee at court it brings up traumatic memories of her rape experiences. When Laura and Steve search the residence of Andy and Tom they initially don't find any the further drugs. Laura then uses the sniffer dog Bongo and find a garage full of cannabis plants. Cindy turns up at the station with a girl she found in the park. Jo helps Phil to try and find the mother. June struggled on the stand to give evidence. Cindy tells Phil she wants to adopt. Tony and Yvonne find Louise dead from a hit and run from Smithy's car.

Sargent Smith is found by Tony and Yvonne in his crashed car with an empty vodka bottle. He claims he was drugged but blows over the limit and has to be arrested. Smithy's world comes crashing down when told Louise is dead. The relief are shocked when seeing Smithy in such a disheveled state. Yvonne steps up as Acting Sargent while the investigation is underway. DCI Keane is assigned to run the investigation. Smithy tells Zain he thinks he has been set up by Pete Larson. Smithy starts getting flashbacks. A new witness identifies Smithy as the driver.

Zain meets with Jordan Tomlin again who tells him he knows how to find one of the missing Mach-10s. Shots are fired at a local community centre during a DJ competition. A victim and a witness are trapped inside, but Superintendent Okaro stops anyone from entering until armed backup arrives as the gunman could still be in the building. Lewis is worried his cousin Dominic could be involved as he was meant to be providing security to the event, but apparently left minutes before the shooting occurred. Dominic tells Lewis that a cop from Sun Hill was cutting deals with Jordan.

A man is found beaten unconscious in his car, and Terry and Suzie discover that he had been assaulted after visiting a prostitute. DC Stuart Turner comes to Sun Hill to assist with the investigation, as he is familiar with one of the suspects from his patch in the West End. Jack is impressed by his performance and offers him the vacant detective sergeant position ahead of Suzie, who is still studying for her sergeant's exams. Dan and Will both apply for the advanced driving course, with only one place available. After a mistake by Dan nets Will three points on his driving permit he decides to get even by playing a prank, causing Dan to get three points too. However Dan already had three points on his permit and is disqualified from applying. Dan tells Will he wants him out of the flat. Leela decides to stand in the election for federation rep when the position becomes available.

Special Relationships
A prostitute is badly beaten while Suzie and Stuart have her home under surveillance. Terry and Stuart interview her flatmate Kelly as they suspect it was a retaliation attack by well known criminal Craig Fenton. The women had stolen drugs from Fenton, their pimp, to sell in order to make enough money to get out of the sex industry. Terry enlists the help of another prostitute, Leigh Bevan, to convince Kelly to testify against Fenton. Leela is appointed as the new fed rep for Sun Hill, but her joy at winning is short lived when she discovers the only other candidate stepped down, and she was elected unopposed. Terry visits his daughter on her birthday. It's the first time he's seen her in two years after walking out on his family, and she tells him that she'll have to think about whether or not she wants to meet him again. After getting a successful result in the Fenton case, Stuart accepts the sergeants job.

Where We Belong: Part 1
It's Smithy's first day back at work following his release from prison and he is shocked to be investigating former cell mate Morris Leatherhead on suspicion of theft. Smithy is convinced of Morris's innocence and goes to great lengths to clear his name. Brothers Phil and Steve are paired together on an assault investigation. Annoyed by Steve, Phil ruins a surveillance operation by another department when he ignores Steve's phone call to warn him about it. Neil has to tell James Tennant that the investigation into the disappearance of his daughter Amy is being scaled down, but while he is doing this Suzie tells him that his own son Jake failed to turn up for school. Suzie finds out from Stuart that he is the new DS, crushing her hopes of promotion. Laura nearly ruins an obbo when she leaves a report half-finished to run a personal errand. Smithy reprimands her and she admits that she is struggling to cope following the introduction of the twelve hour shifts.

Where We Belong: Part 2
New DS Stuart Turner gives Zain and Terry a free hand to investigate the beating of a suspected paedophile. Smithy is concerned for Morris's wellbeing when he disappears after receiving some bad news. Phil clashes with solicitor Heather Lees when interviewing suspect Michael Hassan. Steve Hunter is horrifically attacked while driving home from work.

A man is arrested for criminal damage by probationary PCs Lewis Hardy and Emma Keane. Leela allows them to conduct the interview unsupervised, but Gina Gold has to take over when the man confesses to murder. Will receives information from a boxing gym manager about illegal bare knuckle fighting which is connected to an assault case that Zain and Suzie are investigating. The relief discover Roger's neglect of duty and Superintendent Okaro tells Gina that it must be investigated by the DPS. Gina orders Roger to see a psychologist to determine if he is fit for duty.

Dan tries to get out of the boxing tournament that Gina has set up. Emma and Will get a good result with a capture car initiative. Phil is jealous of the close flirty working relationship between Sam and Stuart. Sam gets in the way of two brothers and their stolen car racket. Emma gets tipsy and kisses Will.

Zain tries to help his old informant Chez Williams when he is caught up in a doggy perfume scam. Phil gets stung by the fake perfume must to the team's enjoyment. Sam let's her guard down with Stuart and they kiss. Emma tells Will their kiss was a mistake Sam and Stuart investigate a dead body found in a councilman's house and dig deeper to discover a seedy situation.

Susie and Mickey investigate escalating violence against a bar owner. Mickey is also stretched trying to help his friend Fern who has just taken back her abusive husband. Laura makes a rash decision with her job when having to see her son Liam get arrested. June goes on a date with Rod Jessop but fines him boring. A tragic situation means Mickey Webb needs to arrest Fern for stabbing her husband.

Fern is interviewed by Jack and MIT but her story starts to change. Mickey is accused of coaching Fern what to say and despite his denials he could lose his job. Laura has a positive day at work and makes a decision about being a PC. June receives an apology and flowers from Rod Jessop. Mickey after seeing his friend Fern charged with murder sabotages his relationship with Mia.
