Retired paratrooper Rod Scott is a veteran of army campaigns in the Middle East and Africa. So when a dispute erupted with next door neighbours; the Halls, it was no surprise Scott didn't submit easily. But even Rod was shocked when his neighbour came at him with a kitchen knife one summer night. The war that followed included poison pen letters, an alleged spy platform in Rod's garden, and a plague of rats.

In Brighton, Ms Attenborough felt as though she was being stalked through her own walls and floors by her neighbour, as he followed her from room-to-room and took pictures of her in her garden. But her neighbour claims he was fed up of her trespassing and trying to steal a small piece of his land. Things spiralled out of control and resulted in a violent tussle between the two, with Ms Attenborough claiming she was punched in the throat...

And Polish Couple Piotr and Marzena Knap met their nightmare neighbour the day they moved in. Within 2 weeks, Charles Gilbert had threatened to blow up their conservatory and soon after, threw petrol over Mr Knap. With a lit- match in his hand, the police were called and the Knaps waited petrified of what would happen next.

We tell the stories of people who've become embroiled in a neighbourly dispute using eyewitness testimony and footage from camcorders, CCTV and phones to examine traumatic, shocking, humorous and occasionally bizarre experiences that affect their everyday life.

The series explores the hostility that ignites many neighbourhoods around Britain sometimes resulting in years of anti-social behaviour, reducing even the most gentile of inhabitants into someone's worst nightmare.

We also reveal how every day, residents across the UK have dealt with the ongoing reprisals which can escalate into long-fought battles resulting in violence, convictions, evictions and even imprisonment.

All over the UK people are living just that little bit too close to home, so it's no wonder that many of us are at war with next door. That niggle over the garden fence can end in years of hell.

In the second episode of the series, James Killian and his family feel they have been reduced to prisoners in their own home after relations with a resident of the mobile home park next to them turned violent. When his neighbour complained about the smoke from his bonfire the little did James know that he would hit him round the head with a hammer seriously injuring him.

The Ellis family moved into their house with one objective, to start a family and live a normal life. But what ensued were years of psychological warfare. When they started receiving mail that was addressed to loose versions of swear words they thought it was odd, but when they found out their baby news had been spread locally when they hadn't told anyone yet, they started to get worried. Are they mistaken, or are their next door neighbours trying to win a sinister psychological battle with them?

And Laurel Wingfield has a problem, a dog problem. And it belongs to her neighbour. Laurel claims his dog keeps defacating and running loose in the communal area of her council block, but one thing she doesn't have is proof. But can she get any video evidence of the highland terrier in the act?

From best man, to worst enemy. Once great friends, Steve Bedford and David Sheldon are embroiled in an on-going dispute that started with a simple off-the-cuff remark and soon spiralled into a war, over the ownership of a hedge. A game of one-upmanship ensued between the ex-best friends that involved pillars being knocked down by one & rebuilt by the other, water being thrown over the hedge, and insults being shouted through the hedge.

Both families mounted CCTV in a bid to catch the other in the act but will the legal costs of their never-ending battle be worth it in the end?

After sending some work pals round to get the money, the story unfolds when Mrs Geddes complains to police about him shining his full beams into her house each morning at dawn, and it is Mr Cochrane himself who ends up on the wrong side of the law.

Phillip Rice has been at logger-heads with Mr Bob Williamson, for over 5 years. Petty arguments lead to a fight, following a social network post. The police are called in, but is there any resolution for the pair?
