Sanya Balabin is a police officer, whom colleagues and friends used to call nothing but Balabol. He never breaks up with a sense of humor, is always true to his principles and believes that he can handle the investigation of any crimes. While Balabin disappears at work, everything is not so smooth on the personal front: after 19 years of marriage, his wife left Sanya. Meanwhile, Balabin's daughter announces her wedding to operative Karandyshev. On the occasion of the celebration, Sanin's father arrives, and together with the groom's parents, he goes to the jewelry store for gifts. At the exit they are robbed by a gang of thugs.
