During the German Occupation of Greece, a timid travelling showman bearing an uncanny resemblance to a ruthless high-ranking SS officer must impersonate him to do his part in the fight against the invaders.

A group of friends embark on a series of misadventures in an attempt to break their Iraqi War Veteran buddy out of his traumatized shell.

Hearing that the United States has just declared war on Germany, Bill Durham hurries to a recruiting station to enlist, but because he has flat feet, he is rejected. He falls in love with Barbara Knowles, whose guardian, August Myers, unknown to Barbara, is a German agent. When Bill learns that Myers plans to stir up trouble on the border of the United States and Mexico, he catches the train to New Mexico and routs out Myers' gang of bandits. Meanwhile, Myers has sent Barbara back to New York to be married to German spy Carl Vogel. Bill returns East and arrives at the church just in time to dispose of the German bridegroom and marry Barbara himself.

Helena Brice (Alberta Vaughn), daughter of John Bryce (Charles Hill Mailes), an airplane manufacturer, breaks off her engagement to Bob Kenwood (Thomas Wells) when he refuses to to enlist in the war. John Bryce soon finds his mansion converted into a recreation center for soldiers and is forced to move to a hotel until the troops leave. Each soldier considers Helena his sweetheart, since she gives them all autographed photos, and she is later forced to send a blanket refusal to their respective proposals of marriage. Bob enlists, but Helena returns his ring when he is detailed to factory duty. To evade her suitors, Helena claims to be engaged to Spike Murphy (Syd Crossey), the beau of her maid Daisy Dooley (Babe London) whom she believes to be dead, but he appears to claim her. Bob pursues them in his roadster, followed by Bryce and Daisy. In a final free-for-all, Daisy subdues Murphy and Bob wins Helena.
