Matthias is a mouse who lives at Redwall Abbey, a fortress under constant siege from evil rats. When the image of a great mouse-warrior begins to speak to him, he realizes that his destiny is to be the successor to a great warrior.

Young novice Matthias (Tyrone Savage) is marking 10 years since his adoption by an abbey named Redwall after his home and family were destroyed by the vicious rat warlord, Cluny the Scourge (Diego Matamoros). While he has grown to value and respect the peaceful philosophies of the order, he dreams of becoming a great warrior like the order's greatest member, Martin the Warrior (Amos Crawley). That dream becomes most relevant when Cluny besieges the abbey. The abbey is determined to resist in what becomes a war of arms, will, and wits. Now, Matthias must protect his home with everything he can contribute, while he discovers that a tapestry depicting the history of Martin is really a prophesy and clues about himself.—Kenneth Chisholm <[email protected]>

Years after the siege of Redwall Abbey by Cluny the Scourge, Matthais and Cornflower have a hotheaded son named Mattimeo who dreams of succeeding his father as the Defender of the Abbey. Unknown to them, a malevolent fox called Slagar the Cruel is plotting a terrible revenge on Redwall. With his gang posing as entertainers, he renders the population of Redwall unconscious and kidnaps nearly all the children, including Mattimeo, to become slaves. When the adults of Redwall awaken, Matthais and his friends must undertake the despairingly difficult search for their children which will take all the skill, luck and allies they can muster. Meanwhile, Mattimeo and his comrades in chains must call upon inner resources they barely know they have in order to escape and otherwise frustrate the diabolical schemes of Slagar.—Kenneth Chisholm <[email protected]>

A shadow has fallen on the shore of the Eastern Sea, a shadow called Marshank (François Klanfer). In this cold stone fortress, a stoat named Badrang (Diego Matamoros) holds dozens of innocent creatures as slaves, part of his scheme to build an empire where he will rule as an unquestioned tyrant. Among those slaves is a mouse named Martin (Amos Crawley), who has a warrior's heart, and a burning desire for freedom--freedom not only for himself, but for all of Badrang's victims. There is no risk he will not take, no battle he will not fight, to end the stoats evil reign, and in the process regain the sword of his father, Luke the Warrior--the sword that Badrang stole from him long ago.

The new generation takes place a few years later: Cornflower and Matthias are grown and married with a family. Mattimeo is a selfish, spoiled boy mouse who is always given what he wants because of his father's reputation as The Warrior. But his life changes when Slager, a mysterious fox, abducts the children and forces them into poverty, slavery, and torture. It's up to Matthias to call upon the Sword of Martin and rescue his son and the other children from the forces of evil yet again.—Miss Nichola McDougall
