A young boy named Sanshiro Sugata battles against other PlaWrestlers using his miniature PlaWrestler pocket robot named Juohmaru.

An animated adaptation of the manga series "Plawres Sanshiro" (1983-1985) by Jiro Gyu. The setting is an era where there are combat tournaments between pocket robots, combining elements of traditional martial arts and professional wrestling with advanced technology. The ambitious rookie Sanshiro Sugata enters the contests with his custom-made robot Juohmaru. He has some talent, but he has to overcome some of his own character flaws to win. A subplot is that Sanshiro envisions the use of advanced robotic technology to create medical implants, while the main villain José Garcia wants to use the same technology to create robotic armies. Garcia's main agent is the femme fatale Sheila Misty. She is motivated by Garcia's false promises that he will heal her paralyzed brother.—Dimos I
