Widower Appasaheb Deshmukh lives a wealthy lifestyle in Kolhapur along with his married son, Vilas, his wife, Madhuri, and their son, Sachin; and a daughter, Nandini. Madhuri proposes that Nandini get married to her brother, Dr. Sagar, which is well received by both Vilas and his dad. When asked, Sagar also approves of this alliance. But Nandini refuses to get married to Sagar and wants to gets married to Milind Desai, who she has fallen in love with. A reluctant Appasaheb arranges their marriage, the couple settle down to a harmonious lifestyle in Milind's house, which is occupied by his widowed mother; a sister, Nimmi, and her husband, Vyanku. The couple are blessed with a son, and they name him Soham. Widower Appasaheb (Rahul Solapurkar) enjoys a wealthy lifestyle in Kolhapur with his family, including his son Vilas, daughter-in-law Madhuri (Kishori Ambiye), and their children Sachin (Master Abu) and Nandini (Nanda Shinde). Madhuri suggests Nandini marry her brother Dr. Sagar, which Vilas and Appasaheb support, and Dr. Sagar agrees. However, Nandini wants to marry Milind (Milind Gawali), with whom she's in love. Reluctantly, Appasaheb arranges their marriage, and they settle happily in Milind's house with his widowed mother, sister Nimmi, and her husband Vyanku. They have a son, Soham. After Appasaheb's death, Nandini faces a life-altering nightmare.
