King Dalimil of the Roses realm and his queen Eliska decide against inviting her evil witch sister Melanie to the christening of long-awaited sole daughter Ruzenka, thus incurring a curse she will prick her finger at a rose and cause the whole castle to fall in sleep till kissed with true love.
