After their father is killed by his arch rival, his two sons, Terry and Andy Bogard, return from 10 years of training to learn a secret technique their father's master promised to teach them, in order to avenge their father's murder.

Terry Bogard's father was murdered by a man named Geese Howard for the purpose of retrieving an ancient manual on martial arts.
