Volcano

(The smell of your absence) is a journey into the lives of three characters living on the margins Bolivian society. It is the story of memory and soul-searching, of three lives in search of redemption in the midst of their own self-destruction. Above all, It is an expression of a forgotten generation in a country that senses itself distanced and in search of its own identity. Deko, member of a punk-destroy group, displays an aggressive temperament that goes against that of his father, While Abad hopes for the betterment of his son`s like, Deko seeks his own self-destruction, Snake never loses hope at acquiring wealth outside of a system that refuses to recognize his existence. Criss hopes to better himself economically in order to support his family while dealing with the absence of his son and a future full of doubt and uncertainty.

Teenage girl Sae lives in the town of Futaba in the northern prefecture of Fukushima in Japan. While visiting a resort she comes across a hula dance group and falls for the activity. Fast forward to 11.03.2011 and Sae is hard at work at the hula when an earthquake leads to a tsunami and a nuclear accident at the power plant. She is concerned for her beautiful dog and the rest of the family.
