Remembering the Forgotten Front: Captain Frank Deland

A series of one-minute films offering a snapshot of contemporary Ireland and documenting the stories of individual immigrants to Ireland.

Four rising musicians from Chicago and the common issues that young Black women artists have to overcome both in a male-dominated music industry and a marginalizing society, from racism to physical expectations to abuse trauma.

Jalan Lain gives light to 8 remarkable profiles with their own stories to tell. Some would have decided that a life in arts would be better suited to their skills, some would have realised that couldn't bear working in an office environment. They would have all different upbringings and unique lives, but all these profiles would eventually make their mark in a truly unconventional manner. The series will cover their stories from their early struggles but it would also trace their steps from thereon - and how they conquered life on their terms. With a host at the helm, the series will also take a deep dive into these profile's current lives and their work. The host will play their part in trying to get a much deeper understanding of what these profiles do for a living and how - with the host partaking to see if they have the ability to keep up even though they excelled in their own education.
