Busty ladies, svelte blondes and natural 70s girls. Fashion has changed significantly in the 20th century. In the old days, clothes mainly had to be practical and cheap. Today, clothes are a big part of our identity. Experience a sea of funny fashion advertisements, e.g. for 'fine clothes from Brugsen' in the 20s, for Brylcreme in the 50s and Wrangler in the 70s. Experience Liva Weel singing margarine in the 30s, Dirch Passer selling oranges in the 50s, and Ida Davidsen paying tribute to the Belgian Christmas salad in the 70s. In the old days, we loved all that fat, and in the first black-and-white films, the chops are drowning in margarine. Strong and clever men, pretty and diligent housewives, polite and silent children. This is how the Danish family is portrayed in a sea of old commercials. The picture only changes in the 70s. Suddenly, Lisbet Dahl appears as an out-of-work woman in a candy commercial, and the men appear at the meat pots. Today we laugh at the old cleaning ads tailored to the housewife, but for our grandmothers they represented the dream of the perfect life. Host: Liv Thomsen.

The commercials tempt our sweet tooth and wake up the beer hound. Our bad conscience has grown as we have had more and more means of pleasure to choose from. An entire advertising block is devoted to Dirch Passer, who happily appears in commercials for all kinds of beer, cigarettes and sweets. White sandy beaches, azure seas and beautiful girls have in turn sold a lot of liquor and chocolate. Host: Liv Thomsen.

The advertisements promise us eternal beauty, youth and health. There is always room for one more person who uses this particular toothpaste, shampoo or soap. And we get to boast of self-confidence and success and "become a whole new person". Experience the fight against soap lice and invisible dirt. In a hundred years, we and our homes have become significantly cleaner, and this is due to, among other things, a multitude of cleaning and hygiene advertisements. Host: Liv Thomsen.

How has advertising changed? In the early 1900s, the films are simple and often comical attempts to sell beer, bicycles and books. From the 20s, the films develop and become small, entertaining stories. Famous actors appear in the films and popular fictional characters appear, e.g. Vitalius Sørensen, who advertises OTA Solgryn. Irony sells - later DSB-Harry and Polle from Snave come along. Host: Liv Thomsen.
