In the dead of night, a teen's restless sleep spirals out of control as his past, present, and future clash in his nightmares. Only through embracing the memories can he uncover the truth and distinguish reality from the imaginary.

It is nighttime. In Croatia, a young woman cannot sleep because her baby keeps crying. Her mother-in-law is also being kept awake by the baby's crying and she is not shy about offering unwanted child-rearing advice to her daughter-in-law. In Spain, a young husband and wife are also wide awake in the dead of night: they are in the middle of a turbulent argument. She is Spanish, he is Croatian and their marriage is in crisis because they simply do not understand one another. Back in Croatia, the young man's elderly mother is also awake, plagued with indigestion pains. The old woman is also worried about her lodger, a young Spanish girl who happens to be the sister of the old woman's daughter-in-law in Spain. The young girl comes home with her new lover. He is a taxi driver who drifts aimlessly through the night while his own wife endures a sleepless night with a crying baby and a nagging mother-in-law.

Dr. Copin hypnotizes Joy Fielding, and she develops a split personality. She changes from an innocent, beautiful young lady into a cruel vamp, to the distress of her boyfriend.

Incidentally, an innocent couple Muku and Nayontara, lives in an area of Dhaka city where supply of drinking water is limited. In summer, water supply is ceased for a few days. Local dwellers stored some water for emergency but Muku and Nayontara have no water at all. So they beg water to every door. Nobody give them water but beat Nayontara mercilessly. Nayontara becomes revengeful and takes her revenge in different way.

They are as clueless as himself. They too, like him, worry about what the future holds. Soon they are joined by Kaveri. And then Ajit, Madan, and Ismail. Each new arrival creates excitement. Yet the anxiety about the future continues. Together, they try to imagine what the future could hold. Their thoughts give an insight into their hopes and fears. Their past is reflected in their hopes for the future. The arrival of a pregnant woman, Savita shakes them more than any other. It forces them to confront the reality of their situation. Prakash realizes that what he misses most is not what wonderful things happened to him. Neither the pain of the past ache. He admits that what hurts the most are missed opportunities and unrealized experiences.
