Alejandro 'Ale' Villacano is a young associate lawyer who has landed a job at the prestigious law firm, Keefe Briar. As a former convict and an acquitted felon, he is an unlikely pick for the firm. Intent on forgetting his past and forging a new identity, Ale dedicates himself to being the top associate at the firm. Thus, he is reluctant to help an old friend in trouble. Only at the prodding of his mentor does Ale take the pro-bono case. For him, it's filing a few grievances against a local prison and then back to his new life. Under the tutelage of Dodo's maid Loti, she has bobbed her hair and donned fashionable apparel. Thus changed, Justine is surrounded by suitors. Stung by jealousy, Cosmo falls in love with his sophisticated wife.

Krushna, the only daughter of Aabasaheb Deshmukh, treats the river Krushna as her mother. Just as the river flows continuously providing life to everyone in its path, Krushna, too, is ever ready to help the people who live in her village. Her blissful life, however, is shattered when her husband turns out to be a man full of vices. He cheats the poor villagers for money and even causes the death of Krushna's father. Pushed to the limits, Krushna finds strength from the river-Goddess and takes it upon herself to get her husband to mend his ways.
