Gregory's Two Girls

'Kali Pili' is inspired by Abbas Kiarostami 'Ten', it's loosely based on true events, which have taken place in Mumbai. 'Aaftab'(taxi-driver)is our main protagonist and the film depicts conversations between him(unchanged) and a variety of passengers as he drives around Mumbai. The movie has 10 stories and 10 different passengers, from morning till midnight, it also at the same time explores a lot of characters from different spheres of society and their respective conversation with the taxi-driver. The screenplay is partly improvised and is shot in a single camera set-up. Apart from the various characters, different locations in Mumbai is been also shown in the film.

Helen Campbell is the new girl in town, lost in the hallways of a new school. Reaching out to the 'In-Crowd' she finds only rejection. Novelist Tom Brinkman appears to have killed his wife Annelies during an argument. The first policeman on the scene, Bert Verhagen, turns out to be an old army buddy of Tom's and is persuaded to stow Annelies in the bathroom when her mother arrives. But things go from bad to worse and soon Tom's publisher Frans and another inspector find themselves up to their necks in dead women.
