Paris, during the summer, Annie, a young single doctor, does not have many patients. Her consulting-room is empty, so is her life. But soon two of them are going to worry her. Lucas suffers from AIDS, but refuses to be cured, what Annie can not understand. There is also Richard, an actor, they first met at a dinner, and now he is coming at her office, more and more often, and seems paranoid... He must be one of those doctor's nightmares, a persecuting hypochondriac...

Boris works as a geography teacher in an ordinary Khabarovsk school. His life is pretty routine. In addition to the school and the garden, Boris has a son, Misha, with whom they have been communicating less and less lately and have become distant people for each other. Everything changes when Misha gives his father his old smartphone for his birthday. Boris begins to understand the phone and registers in social networks. Accidentally, Boris adds one unfamiliar woman named Nadezhda as a friend. An active correspondence is tied up, which subsequently becomes fateful. At one point, Boris decides to go to Nadezhda in the Moscow region to surprise her. He persuades his son, who is engaged in hauling cars, to take him with him on a trip. During a joint trip through all of Russia, old conflicts between father and son are revealed, the reasons for their separation from each other are clarified.

For ages, contact with his only daughter Lisa has been limited to a birthday card. When she doesn't arrive for his 66th birthday, the grumpy loner suddenly becomes worried and drives from the provinces to Frankfurt to see how things are. There he meets his grandson Elyas for the first time - but the sarcastic senior citizen and the quick-witted teenager immediately dislike each other. Finally, Horst realises that he has been lured into a trap: Lisa is worried about her father's health and wants to have him examined in hospital. He reluctantly agrees - and receives a devastating diagnosis. When Horst realises that he doesn't have much time left, he calls Johann for help, quickly escapes from the clinic - and with grandson Elyas in tow, the two of them are suddenly on the run from the police in a stolen hearse and on their way back to Sauerland. But the seriously ill Horst doesn't want to simply run away from his fate - he wants to try to come to terms with his life. So the trio sets off on an eventful journey to the places of Horst's past. It becomes increasingly clear that behind his trained loner facade lies, above all, grief for his beloved wife and his lost daughter. The trip to Sauerland represents Horst's last chance to put things back in order.
