The story of young people who are cut off from society and family foundations and lead an irresponsible lifestyle.

A promising young crew from the extreme south part of Brazil combined their efforts and talents so this film would happen. Guided by feature debut director Gilson Vargas, who has already been acclaimed for his shorts and known for his work as a film professor, the small group spent weeks traveling from Porto Alegre, Brazil, to Montevideo, Uruguay, while shooting the scenes along the way. The result is a singular film for Brazilian cinematography, that experiments unusual aesthetics and production style to its scenario. The main character's search for his father after his mother's death is very close to the actor's own personal life, adding emotional moments to the narrative.

Lord Carlyle, governor of an Indian province, a ruthless type of a man, attracted by Adrienne's beauty, makes her his wife, but does not win her love. Andrew Fabian, studying for the ministry, comes to India. After a scene involving Carlyle and another woman Adrienne leaves him. She and Fabian meet aboard ship and he persuades her to join a pilgrimage to Damascus, where they learn to love each other. Called back to reality by the voice form the minaret, Adrienne returns to her husband and they soon go back to England. Fabian becomes minister of a church in London. They meet again. Carlyle, suspicious, arranges a ruse and learns the truth. As he is about to denounce Fabian an attack of an old malady kills him, and the lovers find happiness. - Moving Picture World 1923.
