Submarine vs. U-Boat - WW2's Only Underwater Duel
In 1945 the German submarine U-864 was ferrying flasks of mercury and plans for the Me-262 jet fighter and Me-163 Komet to Japan. Shortly out of it's home port of Bergen Norway its snorkel malfunctioned. The commander chose to return for repairs but was detected by Submarine HMS Venture. After a three hour underwater pursuit Venture sunk U-864 by torpedo in its home waters.

Auschwitz - The 1944 Revolt
The Auschwitz Birkenau was designed an built to perform mass executions. But not all prisoners were immediately slated for death. Many served as slave labor in the munitions camps nearby. There there was the Sonderkommando, prisoners who 'processed' and incinerated the bodies of the executed. In 1944 knowing their time for death was at hand they revolted.
