David Côté explores the idea of eating natural foods as a way to connect us back to nature, which is often lacking for those living in metropolitan areas. The habit of eating natural foods has changed over the last centuries as the norm is now to consume domesticated foods. Most of today's fruits and vegetables found in any supermarket are nearly impossible to find in the wild. By bringing more wild into our diet, Côté explains that we are choosing to connect and evolve in a stronger way. Co-author of five books including a bestseller translated in five languages, Shiatsu therapist, acroyoga teacher, living food chef and inspiring public speaker, David always has many projects going on. After several years of travelling around the world, David decided to settle down in Montreal to open up his restaurant, Crudessence. Voted as the 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year in the Quebec Young Chamber of Commerce, David is presently the CEO of Crudessence and Vice President of RISE Kombucha, a healthy energy drink company. During his Talk, David invited people into deeper reflection, inspiring daily acts of self-respect and responsibility. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
