The Leather Dollar
Boxer Chu Chu Hernandes becomes Scott and Clipper's first customer at Straightaway when he brings his expensive sports car in for repair following an accident. Chu Chu suffers back pain from the incident but insists on performing an important fight. He's badly beaten in the ring, but faces even greater pain when he learns his beloved manager Garcia placed a bet for his opponent to win.

The Tin Caesar

While driving his custom auto to a rally, Clipper picks up a hitchhiker and lets him out at a rural gas station. Later, formidable small-town Sheriff Bardeen arrives at his motel and places Clipper under arrest. The gas station attendant, mortally wounded by an assailant, managed to identify Clipper's car with his dying breath. Scott races to help his friend but finds his investigation into the hitchhiker thwarted by Bardeen who doesn't believe Clipper's story.

A gang of hot rodders who have been terrorizing the neighborhood suddenly target Scott and Clipper's garage after a gang member hits one of their customized cars. Sadistic ring-leader Harkey then orders flunky Eddie Martell to instigate a siege of vandalism against the Straightaway.
