Ward Charlie Alpha is rebuilt and gets single cells and a kitchen. Six inmates are randomly selected to test drive the department, which is renamed Little Scandinavia. Just as the new everyday life begins to roll, the ward, the prison and the world are hit by the pandemic, with grim consequences. An American prison is testing elements from the Scandinavian penitentiary with a focus on rehabilitation instead of punishment.
