Adolescent Sébastien isn't amused that his inseparable Pyrenean mountain dog (Isa)Belle is repeatedly called by Alpine villagers a monster. However hearing the publican didn't mean her by 'White dragon' but a legendary creature, Seb sets out to find it and deal with it if dangerous. His cocky kid rival commandeers the strong simpleton to follow then to 'sweep in' and claim the hero part. Local poacher Anton gets wind of the plan and sets a trap, which works out even more dangerous for him then the knaves, while Belle saves the day.

However Ivan isn't content to chase the 'ruffians', he mobilizes village men to hunt down the 'disruptive intruders' when the kid escapes trough the hole his wild pitchfork attack made in his own fence. Helped by the mayor's daughter, Seb and Belle escape to find and save Chausette on a mountain peek.

Taking the defense of the mayor's 'nerd' son Soren, whom other village boys ridicule as an obvious klutz, Sébastien makes a risky bet with Caméo, that he can teach his charge in a single day to climb a mountain peak. Soren's first training hike is a small disaster, so Seb is relieved when he hears of forbidding weather, but Soren overheard him and decided grimly to prove himself by climbing alone. Seb mount belle to ride to the rescue, yet comes into trouble and is surprised pleasantly by Soren, even in the mystery of the smugglers path.

Seb must 'interrupt' his punishment to attempt saving everyone.

Taunted by Cameo's gang that he can't even control his 'por excuse for a shepherd dog', Sébastien takes a risky dare to prove they can herd a flock of sheep, but teaching his uninterested dog seems hopeless. Sheep keep disappearing from pastures, and Ivan blames Belle as she was seen nearby each time. Seb knows better and sets out to prove it must have been poachers, which they indeed find, but have a hard time with. In the process, Seb realizes Belle is a guard dog, not a flock minder.

Fed up with farm - and domestic chores after school, Sébastien takes grandpa's jest the alternative is living as a savage, even though belle is clearly not enthusiastic about leaving home cooking and comforts behind. As he sticks it out and refuses 'handouts' from civilization, worried family and friends sneak food and more to him trough Belle, until he finds out and claims he can do even without his dog. Seb climbs higher on a mountain, determined to endure cold and humidity in a cave, but is terrified by a bear and saved by Belle, who is 'rewarded' by returning home.

Waking up late once more, Sébastien rushes to the train station, to wave goodbye the mayoral family leaving on annual summer holiday, but kid son Spren's goodbye from Belle thus takes too long, so the train leaves without him. Seb promises to get the desperate boy on anyhow, racing on Belle's back to the next station, which they also miss, and then a water supply in a sharp corner, were Soren gets on, but only afterward notices his family got off to search for him. Seb now races to get frightened Soren off again, only to find the mayoress utterly ingrate to him and Bele.

Dreaming of real adventure in the mountains, Sébastien is scolded in class for not paying attention to a lesson on Robinson Crusoë. Having ran off with Belle before doing class chores, Seb is punished with lines and wines, boasting he already knows all he could need concerning the mountains. Teacher Tourel dares a wager: if 'guest teacher' proves himself as mountain expert under six errors, he may be excused from classes to roam with Belle. It starts well, but eager to sabotage him, Cameo's gang first bombards him with questions, then sneaks off during a rest into a dangerous cave Seb duly warned against.

Sébastien keeps ignoring with Belle the ranting of grumpy old farmer Ivan against them simply running a short-cut home over his land. Ivan meanly sets game traps, which they spot and ably avoid, but he gets hurt himself. Ivan still insists on continuing with farm chores, which he's clearly not up to, so Seb and Belle repeatedly distract him and do it themselves for him, although Ivan believes he 'forgets about having done it' and proves an incorrigible ingrate, even after a sermon from doc Guillaume. Seb resumes 'tresspassing'.

Sébastien keeps putting off his promises to helpful classmate Adele to go play in the mountains with Belle. After he completely forgets about their joint assignment about minerals, she snaps the day may come Seb will regret not having her around anymore. A jealous school girl overhears them but spreads the false interpretation she's moving out of town, which swells mouth to mouth into a city boarding school. Seb feels it's his fault and decides to get her a fitting goodbye present from the mountain: rock crystal. Getting it proves perilous, but ends up reconciling and reassuring them.

The race goes badly and he scolds Angelina's every failure Belle would have done better, so she decides to bow out and César encourages her to tell him the truth about his arrival as a foundling.

Feeling guilty for his dog being neglected mainly while he's in school, Seb tries finding out where Belle goes to. Thus he bumps onto Sören's visiting city cousin, an asthma patient sent to the mountain air. Seb fraternizes as he turns out to own a small dog, they search together and finds the pair playing. However poacher Anton already noticed Belle running around alone, and now resolves to catch and sell both dogs. Seb finds he nearly succeeded and fights back with Belle.

Just when she wines she shouldn't have listened to Seb, he finds the right exit and nature makes it all worthwhile, even if they barely manage racing back.

To Sébastien's horror, grandfather César approves when Angelina invites his rival classmate as 'friend' on their farm. Seb feels punished as Caméo proves himself an endearing cook and chores volunteer, while even Belle deserts Seb, who can't stand his snoring and fails at what he normally does easily. Frustrated he throws his alpine horn at Cameo, who is offered the solo in his 'irresponsible ruffian' place, but can't blow a note, so the rivals must secretly make a pact.

Sébastien is fascinated when he hears his mountaineering hero Jean-Michel is around, climbing on the region's very own Jungfrau, so he takes Belle to have a look. Seb is just in time come to the rescue of his idol, who was giving a master-class to a novice climber, who froze, caused the line to break and abandoned the cornered expert, running to town, where his self-absorbed story takes long for the doctor to realize a climber is in danger on a steep mountain slope. Belle rescued Seb, who couldn't hold the rope alone, and his idol is most impressed as well as grateful for such young and canine talent.

Now it's a matter of returning it to his wild species, without any humane getting attacked.

Sébastien and his friends are scandalized when cameo's mother making the umpteenth false complaint about 'troublesome' Belle decides the mayor to post 'no dogs' sign all over town. The doctor questions if Belle should even be blamed and gets the town-folk to agree such measure requires a qualified vote, so a referendum is called for. Seb, whose campaign team finds their -sometimes clumsily backfiring- efforts to prove belle friendly and helpful sabotaged by gift bag bribery, gets Soren to stall his mother while he digs up archived evidence of the adults own youthful shenanigans, and in the process accidentally gives Belle opportunity to demonstrate her rescue instinct.

Sébastien is worried as the farm's home-made cheese no longer earns enough to keep the sheep due to the dwindling number of visitors to St. Martin. The regional tourist guide he consulted, lacking a mention of the town, is confiscated by the mayoress who managed to bump into 'troublesome' knave and Belle and executes the idea he got from it: contacting the inspector to get their village reviewed. The mayoral plan to present a 'perfect' clean village is so sterile, Seb overhears the inspector call his publisher to rate it zero stars. Luckily, after locking her in he and friends present the colorful real real life, with typical produce and even a 'milk your cheese goat' program.

Sébastien and rival Caméo bicker even while fishing with the latter's simpleton mate Gabriel, who excels in angling but bursts in tears when the row with a flower he's allergic to disables him from keeping his house cleaning promise. Guilty, Seb and Caméo rival to prove themselves the better friend by doing the chores, but the results are largely undone in another childish fight. Grandfather tries a ruse: sending the rivals to collect 'healing water' from a high mountain spring, forcing them to collaborate.

Seb gets a surprise visit in the cabin, and the occasion to perform a rescue and discover a legacy.

Sébastien must seek shelter, having failed to anticipate an unpredictable thunder-storm, with Belle, but only he is called into the inn by Cameo's mother, so he promises Belle to smuggle her in. While Seb finds that difficult, she proves obsessed with an alleged resident ghost in one room upstairs. So he offers his services as brave ghost hunter and sneaks Belle in there, but can only get her out again disguised as a ghost. Running away, they scare Cameo's father, who drives his car off a bridge, then Seb and Belle rescue him and the hostile knave, ending up 'unmasked'.

Seb sets out with Belle, but even he can't cope with altitude disease. When grandfather climbs to the rescue, they discover while fog clears up that Nino managed to plant his flag before perishing.

Only after Seb makes that clear, they can clean and catch up, so Gabriel still has a great evening, despite the burnt dinner.

The sled gets into trouble, and Seb can only catch up just in time to prevent worse.

He escaped from a truck and doctor Guillaume brings his tranquilizer gun to chase it with Seb, while Belle distracts the giant.

Finally Seb finds her in 'Paradise', the cabin of animal healer Agnes, but neither playmate can wait a single night to be reunited. Anto however sneakily followed Seb and was able to catch wounded Belle, so Seb, Agnes and her tame eagle Milton sprint to the rescue.

It's the doing of smuggler Anton, who wants to sell her and take revenge for his spoiled plans, so Seb is duly worried when he sets chase, following a trail Belle laid but was discovered and turned into a decoy by Anton, finding them at the frozen lake, where grandpa catches up .

Seb sees at least she takes a deliberate detour and thinks fast to cover up the cave treasure. Next he confides into history-buff teacher Tourelle.

It's therefore very dangerous, as grandpa ignores that Seb can only rely on his memory to the way back out of the cave system they explore. Luckily Belle and nature prove a secret weapon.

Sébastien has a poor grades average, but a single chance to improve it and avoid summer study: an assignment on Alpine fauna. He sets out with Belle to illustrate it with Original photographs, but obnoxious class dux Cameo is determined to ace again, so he follows them. Finally Seb and Belle find the trail of a very rare red lynx, but it leads to a crummy rope bridge, so they give up. Cameo tries to cross it but gets stuck as a board breaks and is attacked by the hungry cat, who is after his sandwich. Belle fights off the feral feline, Seb rescues his shivering classmate but loses grandpa's camera in the turmoil. So Cameo presents his illustration while Seb technically deserves an F, but it actually recorded some moments, disclosing the bizarre events.

Sébastien, Soren and Adèle find a magnifying glass during grandpa's annual barn clean-up and take it along when allowed to go play instead as Belle messes piles up again. It being a hot day, they decide to go swim in the lake. Passing trough grumpy neighbor Ivan's pasture, they are chased off. Soren however loses the magnifying glass, which Ivan angrily throws in a dry patch, where it soon catches fire while he drives to town. Seb and companions notice the smoke, return and rescue the sheep flock. Soren risk his life for the last lost lamb, Seb rescues him and Belle it.

Sébastien is gutted when grandpas bad back disables him from guiding the kids to watch the annual shooting stars, but he successfully pleads he can take over with a compass and Belle to find their way home, timely as promised to the parents. Soren falls behind and sulks having missed the first shower, so Seb sends the girls back while they wait for anther. Adèle gets lost following fire flies and another girl broke the compass, so they're lost. Seb finds them and Soren inspires him to navigate back by the stars.

Sébastien is jealous to see cameo play with a remote control airplane as reward for his chores in mother's inn, but doesn't believe grandpa will finally reward his far more extensive farm chores with a pair of walkie-talkies as promised. Seb and Belle hope to earn enough money having gotten a reward for helping a slipping cheese cart, and learn from the scrooge innkeeper's clientele that grumpy neighbor Ivan needs help as his farmhand is incapacitated with flue. Seb agrees to finish a long lost of chores before dinner for thee walkie-talkies and would pull it off, hadn't Cameo's out of control airplane messed it all up and scared the goats off. It also broke and was actually the scoundrel's big cousin's, so the boys make their own deal: Cameo finishes the chores, Seb repairs it before Ivan comes inspect. Alas he finds hidden muddy laundry, so Seb still worked his and the rascal's tail off without reward. Grandpa prepared a surprise.

Sébastien climbs to an eagle's nest, but is chased by the bird, nearly looses his balances and causes a rock to fall onto Belle. Seb and grandpa César now find loyal Belle behaves erratically, irritable, grumpy and hostile, even to them. The doctor diagnoses amnesia, disbling her to recognize anyone. Seb and friends are determined to trigger Belle's memory, but make no progress and her misbehavior all over the village causes a general outcry for the mayoress to eagerly ban her. Seb perseveres, hell-bound to save his friend but appealing to her protective instinct, even now rescue isn't reliable when needed.

It's a hot day, so the kids plan to go swim in the lake, but Sébastien and 'scary' Belle aren't invited. Seb can't find his swimming trunks and isn't keen on grandpa César's ancient floral pair. Seb and Belle take a mountain hike, discovering upstream there' bad weather ahead which builds up a dangerous mud load. Seb's warnings are dismissed by the chaperon adults, who even set out to catch Belle, but the mud proves itself real. Seb and belle save his kid friend Soren, a terrible novice swimmer, earning the grumpy mayoress's gratitude as the kid's mother.

Seb accepts to cross a dangerous deep glacier crevasse, but has to abort his well-attended first attempt due to dizziness. César explains such exploit cause acrophobia attacks even with the best, but Seb tries again and has to be carried home by Belle, so humiliating he refuses to hike in the mountains again at all. Seb ends up trying Adèle's grandmother's herbal brew, of vile taste, and gathers his courage when she's in need of rescue.

Sébastien is eager to see the rare 'blood moon' and promises to take Soren and Adèle along to the best observation mountain site. Cameo engages Gabriel to scare them, posing disguised as werewolf. Seb's proteges as well as Cameo lied to get out late at night 'to an astronomy club' or as tutor, so their mothers get suspicious and come looking for them with the schoolteacher. Meanwhile it gets late and a pack of wolves is on the prowl, irresistibly drawn to the ragout Camoe's mother drags along. They whole party, with the unmasked werewolves, hides for them in a mountain cabin, until Seb thinks of ways to get past the wolves.

Sébastien is busy helping grandpa César preparing goat cheese for the weekly town market. So Belle wanders off playing alone, but is lured with a toy and caught by poacher Antonn, who locks Seb in the barn. Cameo and Gabriel notice belle in Anton's minivan, cry alarm and try to step him, but Gabriel gets locked in with the dog. Seb has freed himself and César was at the market, so they and Cameo give chase. After Gabriel's father's car gets pegged down, the boys continue by train and bicycle. Anton almost gets away, but loses control of his vehicle after a risky sneaking liberation attempt by Seb, who was also still inside when he took off unaware.

Seb swears that must be a copy as they're not that good at mountaineering, so he'll descend for the real one. Cameo fears exposure as fake hero and races with Gabriel, but ends up needing rescue by Belle and Seb.

Sébastien is sick in bed, doctor Guillaume is impressed to hear about the informal veterinary sanctuary 'animal paradise' being run in the mountains by a girl. Seb recovers just enough to get up and mobilize his friends when they here the sanctuary is threatened with closure by an inspector. Seb scolds Guillaume a traitor seeing it's him, and their hasty repair work is up for a long list of negative notes, but the doc reconsiders after seeing her in action in an emergency.

Sébastien is furious to find that farmer Ivan, who started commercial mushroom collecting, cage-trapped a wild boar sow, which gorges on those. Seb realizes the piglets need their mother and sabotages Ivan's van by holes in the tires, which clumsy farmhand Martin can't get fixed for hours. Seb and Belle meanwhile find the three young, which are wandering off constantly, despite a hungry fox lurking around. When they dig up a truffle, Seb is inspired to promise Ivan a lucrative alternative.

Doctor Guillaume gives them a shampoo and prescribes a preventive collar, but when they go fetch one from the pharmacy, Belle is already flee-infested again at arrival, hence banned. Seb realizes their must be another contamination source, works out it's numskull Gabriel's recently adopted stray cat and comes up with a solution.

Sébastien's eagerly volunteers to deliver grandpa César's monthly goat cheeses for regular customers all over St. Martin village. Seb however feels the apothecary seems to abuse his boxer pup Vitamine, so he and Belle take it along, but find it quite a handful, distributing the delivery and causing damages. As the dog even ate the client list, Seb can't find out who to deliver the last cheese to, only to learn that wasn't possible in the first place, and Vitamine is returned to its owner.

Helping old Paolo with barn spring cleaning, Sébastien learns about St. Martin village's bush fire disaster averted by a billy goat, and is proud to get to guard for a while Paolo's heirloom talisman, a statuette which an ancestor made from the goat's bone. Seb lets superstitious villagers touch it for luck, but the mayor convinces him to start an exhibition at the town hall's tiny museum section, to attract tourists. The talisman is stolen while Seb is distracted by Belle and nobody owes up. Seb devises an elaborate plan to convince people Belle swallowed the statuette, hence became the new luck bringer, while he checks on non-believers as suspects.
