Bear Grylls presents the series in which eight celebrities face a 12-day survival mission through the rainforest of Costa Rica. To stay alive, they must learn to navigate the terrain, build shelters, make fire and supplement their meagre army rations. On the ground, Bear is assisted by expedition leaders mountain guide Meg Hine and former commando Scott Heffield. In this edition, the jungle has already taken its toll, with one of the group suffering from mosquito bites and another with trench foot. Bear introduces the gang to a two-mile cave system and demonstrates how to obtain vital zinc from a jungle source - in this case tarantulas! One member of the team discovers a freshly-killed pig in one of the caves and bears it back in triumph to his mates. The team are transferred by helicopter to the Pacific coast, and the largest river in Costa Rica - the Tempisque. Their mission is simple - get across the river safely. It is their last chance to impress Bear before elimination.

Bear Grylls presents the final of the series in which a group of celebrities face a 12-day survival mission through the rainforest of Costa Rica. Now there are only three celebrities left, and they must fight it out to be crowned Bear's Mission Survivor. They must also build their camp using only what the jungle provides them, eat rats for dinner and face Bear's most extreme challenges yet. Bear takes the contestants one by one to the top of a 300ft waterfall, which they each must abseil down alone. The following day, after crossing a near-impenetrable mangrove swamp and wading up to their necks in water, the three must each transport a glowing ember to a signal fire, make enough smoke to create an international distress signal and call in a rescue helicopter. Three remain but only one person will win. Who has conquered their fears? And who has the qualities Bear is looking for to be named his Mission Survivor?
