Bear Grylls presents the series in which seven celebrities face a 12-day survival mission in the dangerous wilderness of the South African bush. They must trek over treacherous mountains, find and eat wild food, build a shelter and start a fire as they navigate their way to the coastline and safety. Actor Neil Morrissey, Dancing on Ice judge Jason Gardiner, actress Michelle Collins, stage star Samantha Barks, former England footballer Stuart Pearce, actress Chelsee Healey and captain of Arsenal Ladies Alex Scott make up the expedition team. Their journey starts with an airlift as they are taken into the heart of the Bushveld. From the drop zone, guide Meg Hine leads them up a mountain where the weather changes from sunshine to driving rain within an hour. Bear introduces their first mission in which the two teams must search for two supply drops and pack what is essential for a 12-day expedition. Which team will find the supplies and who will pick the correct gear?

To stay alive, they must learn to navigate the terrain, build shelters, make fire and supplement their meagre army rations. Emilia and Laurence Fox, Max George, Dame Kelly Holmes, Jamelia, Tom Rosenthal, Vogue Williams and Mike Tindall make up the team. On the ground, Bear is assisted by expedition leaders mountain guide Meg Hine and former commando Scott Heffield. In this edition, the celebrities have to negotiate their way down a steep ravine in dense jungle to reach their camp for the night. Bear shows them how to avoid insect bites with nature's own repellent - mud. The following morning, he has them abseiling down a 120-foot waterfall. Once they have all been retrieved safely by Scott, Bear has another treat in store - they are going to have to drink their own urine. Who has done most to impress and who is about to be sent home?

In this edition, tensions reach boiling point as the team face their toughest mission yet - how to survive and travel in water through rivers, lakes and torrential rain. With each member of the expedition team tired, wet, cold and hungry, the celebrities face their first night without army rations and have to catch their own supper. The following morning sees them take to indigenous canoes called pangas and precariously make their way to an island in the Laguna de Arenal.

Now at the halfway point, the team are now deep into coastal forest, but with a different environment comes different threats. Bear arrives in the camp earlier than usual and has a surprise for the rookie survivors - they are just 30 feet away from three elephants. Their first task is drinking fluid extracted from elephant dung. Bear appoints a leader of the group - clear leadership is something they have been lacking. Now they must work together and overcome their fears to make it to the bottom of a canyon. Bear has left some bush food for them along the way - rats. As they bed down for the night, the mood is strained and leads to an argument. Next day they must descend down a terrifying vertical rock face. As the threat of elimination hangs over them, who will continue on Mission Survive?

In this penultimate edition of their journey, the four-strong celebrity expedition team must find and eat the fruits of the forest, survive another stormy night and face their most extreme challenge yet - crossing a 200 feet ravine on a rope. Bear provides them with a protein boost - two dead rabbits which must be skinned, gutted and cooked over the fire. The team also have to build a camp using jungle ponchos. Before elimination, Bear sets the exhausted team another survival challenge - creating fire from a pile of bamboo poles using only knives and flints. Which three celebrities will make it into the final?

Bear Grylls presents the series in which celebrities face a 12-day survival mission in South Africa. It is day 11 and the remaining three celebs are on the final leg of their journey. They have endured and overcome everything that Bear has thrown at them, but who will prove to be his ultimate mission survivor? The day begins with Meg and Scott stripping back the celebrities' kit - including rations. Just getting to their first mission is a test of nerve, traversing the rocky coastline. When they reach Bear, they embark upon a military commando crawl. Suspended 80 feet above the crashing waves, this pushes them to their physical limits. The tide is rushing in fast and the group have 20 minutes to forage in the shallows and remaining rock pools for seafood. On the final day, Bear presents them with two surprises to see how they react to adversity. The penultimate challenge is making fire, then they must race to the top of a 65 feet cliff face.
