Jos Cuppers drives home on his motorbike and is run down by a car. He's now in a coma. He was a union representative who had an immense argument with his boss Loes Decraene a few days before. Jos got a threatening letter a week before, but didn't want to go to the police. Immo Stallaert, run by State Secretary André Vestiaux, has a new project: Halle 2020. The renovation and the sell of the apartments doesn't go well. Roel who works there and is a mate of Jos, says that Loes fiddles with material. She buys inferior material and charges clients the full price. Luk, who also works there, says that is total nonsense. Suddenly the Financial Investigation Department get an interest. It seems there is money laundering going on at Immo Stallaert and they have an informant in the firm. Jos wakes up for a moment and says: don't let Carl go, they will get him. No-one seems to know who Carl is.

Roel Hagemans is shot dead before Witse's eyes. It is clear he knew too much about Halle 2020. Witse is convinced there must be a leak in the Financial Investigation Department, but they say that's absolutely impossible. Jos finally wakes from his coma. He tells Witse there is another sales assistant in the Vestiaux's firm. Witse suspects Vestiaux is behind it all, but because there is not enough evidence and his diplomatic immunity, he can't arrest him. Instead he tries to interrogate his personnel. But they won't say anything incrementing about their boss. Witse has to search for more evidence if he wants to arrest Vestiaux.

Liesbeth Christiaens is found murdered. She worked in the prison. It turns out she had an affair with one of the prisoners, Antoine Gijsels. But she also went with her colleague, Richard Van Acker. Liesbeth came clean to Richard and told him about her affair. So he had a motive to kill her. Antoine also has an affair with Carine. She firmly believes Antoine is totally innocent in prison. He supposed to have killed his wife. She knew about Liesbeth, so she also had a reason for killing Liesbeth. But Antoine has a baby with Leen and has plans to move in with her when he gets out. Ballistics prove Antoine's wife is killed with the same weapon as Liesbeth. It turns out Antoine is manipulating a lot of people to show his innocence. Finally Witse makes an arrest, but that's not for both murders.

A new born baby is found dead on the playground of a school on a Saturday. There was a cleaning crew and a class taking extra lessons, but no-one saw anything. There were three girls absent that week from that school. The police find out the baby is from Stefanie. Her parents, very strict Jehova's witnesses, thinks she's at a language camp. They firmly believe their daughter wasn't pregnant, because it's a sin to have sex before marriage. The police find out that the P on the blanket the baby was wrapped in, comes from a hotel named Passage. The police find Stefanie there in very bad shape. She's unconscious and bleeding heavily. They rush her to hospital. She needs a blood transfusion. Her mother has the right blood, but when she will agree to a transfusion, she will be an outcast. Johan Cuypers, the leader of the community, warns her for this. Witse tells her, that Stefanie is much more important than her religion right now. In the mean time, they're not any closer to what happened with Stefanie and her baby and who the father of the baby is.

Sven de Pril, the Belgian 100 m freestyle swimming champion, is found dead in the swimming pool. While Witse is in hospital after a heart attack, the team has to find the murderer themselves. Soon they have a couple of serious suspects. Pieter Vandervurst, another swimmer who was always just behind Sven, had a run in with him only two days ago. Pieter's father Theo, who trains him, was jealous of Sven and always pushed Pieter to the limited. Sven's girlfriend Maya is suddenly very friendly with Pieter. The team find out that Pieter used doping and that Sven found out about it. That's what the fight was about a few days ago. Maya works at a chemist and she had the possibility to get her hands on the right drugs very easily. When they test Sven's blood, it shows he also used drugs. His mother Anita and his uncle Karel, who trained Sven, assure Sven was always very strongly against doping and that's why he snitched on Pieter. They find out Maya didn't deliver the drugs, but a part-time doctor of the club. When they search his computer, they find very interesting data which finally lead them to the murderer.

Mike de Nayer is found dead, naked and wrapped in plastic in the river. It seems he was a big bully at his work and mainly picked on Dirk. The rest of the colleagues did nothing. They were just glad they weren't pestered. Geert was Dirk's only friend on the work-floor. Mike and Peter were best friends until Peter got promoted. Mike was married to Nancy, but when Witse and Tine stake out Nancy's house, they see Peter leaving the house very early in the morning. It seems they have an affair and Mike knew about it for a few months. But Peter and Nancy only found that out not long ago. And that was probably why Mike bullied Dirk the last few months even more than usual. The team find traces of blood in the trunk of Dirk's car and arrest him. He can't take it anymore, writes a confession on the wall of his cell and commits suicide. Peter Wytinckx wants to close the file, but than they discover the rope around the plastic Mike was wrapped in, was tied with two different knots. So he must have had an accomplice.

Tom Kempeneers is found dead with an overdose of heroine, tranquilizers and booze. The crime scene is shut down, but suddenly they find Mireille, Tom's girlfriend, and Fré Debruyn, Tom's confidential counselor, there. The police determine Tom didn't kill himself. Someone else injected him with the heroine. Mireille and Fré say Tom was an addict, but he was clean now. Tom's parent differ on that matter. Erwin, his father, can't take it his son was on drugs and doesn't believe for one moment Tom was clean. Sil, his mother, always believed in her son and supported him. Erwin believes that was the whole problem in the first place. Tom didn't get along with his boss, Jos, at all. Jos accused him of stealing money from his locker. He even went to Tom's apartment and threatened him. Mireille is completely addicted to drugs and needs money all the time. Jos gives her money for favors. Tom didn't know about this. Mireille has nowhere to go and is taken in by Erwin and Sil after she says she's pregnant with Tom's child. She even has a doctor's note. When Witse finds out Mireille is not pregnant at all and that the vomit next to Tom's bed is not his, things go fast.

Hector Segovia, a European and world champion tango dancer, is chatting with Lola Guttierrez on the computer when someone comes to his door. Then they are interrupted again, but Hector won't say who it is. She gets angry and breaks contact. At that point Hector is hit from behind and is dead. Hector has a tango school. Ingmar and Patrice also teach there. Ingmar gives private lessons to Martin, who wants to surprise his wife Daniëlle for their 25th anniversary. She works behind the bar at the school, but is a good dancer. Lola was Hector's partner in dance and in relation, but she left him and moved to Spain. Hector walked after her like a lapdog and tried to get her back to Belgium. Nobody at the school liked Lola, because she always felt superior to the rest. Although Hector was straight, Ingmar was in love with him, but never came out or admitted it. He says he has no alibi for that evening. Patrice also loved him, but Hector turned her down. As revenge she went to his house a week before and tore his clothes to shreds. She has no real alibi for the evening Hector was murdered. Daniëlle also loved him, but she didn't make any chance with him, because he only loved younger women. She says she was with Martin that evening, but it turns out that they slept separately for years, so they can't vouch for each other. A lot of motives, no alibis and a lot of unanswered love, make things difficult for Witse.

Everything points to a suicide when Louis Selleslags is found dead in his chip shop. But it soon turns to murder. When Witse start digging in Selleslags family, he finds troubled families, feuds and crippled power searches. Louis' sons tried their whole life to step from their father's shadows, but didn't really succeed. A shadow from which even the competition doesn't seem to escape. Escpecially Pieter Goeman. He's striving for years to get the chip shop from Louis.

In the middle of the fields a deserted touring car is found. Behind the wheel sits a dead Ewout Staelens. The young bus driver was killed with several knife stabs. Witse tries to find out who the last passenger was. He also discovers Ewout had suicide plans. Witse first has to find out about Ewout's past, before he can find out what happened in the present.

Larissa and Lena attend to their father's/husbands funeral. When the coffin is lowered into the grave, they discover a dead body is already in there. This is Marc-Henri, Larissa's husband. Nobody seems to know much about him. He traveled a lot for his work and when he was at home, he secluded himself. His wife acquiesces in the fact he's dead. She is supported by her mother and friend. Then they find a safe in the house with a surprising content.

Fanny Jacobs, a young lab technician, is found dead in her house. She was pregnant for the second time. Steven, her ex, is the father of Marco, her first born. Merel, who found Fanny, claims that Marco isn't Steven's and that she got pregnant through artificial insemination with an unknown donor. Steven says Marco is definitely his, because doctor Vanneste insured him he was fertile. Doctor Vanneste is a colleague of doctor Claessens, who did the second insemination of Fanny. Doctor Vanneste and doctor Claessens are both after director Dubois' job. Fanny seemed to have blackmailed Claessens with his relationship to Vanneste's wife Helena. At least Fanny received 50.000 euro the day before she quit. Karel Dubois is getting nervous and warns Witse not to go on with the investigations in his hospital. The police get an anonymous phone call. The voice says that Bjorn Lemmens is the father of Marco. All trails suddenly seems to lead to Bjorn who also works at the hospital. He claims he has nothing to with it all. The police find out that the phone call came from doctor Vanneste's office. When Witse and Tine go there, they find Vanneste and Claessens dead. Or are there still some life signs?

The shooting incident leaves Claesssens in a coma and Vanneste with a bullet in his arm. Merel says she saw the shooter. Steven. He is arrested immediately, but keeps denying he shot the two doctors. He admits he was there, but they were already lying on the floor and he thought they were dead, so he just left. Witse doesn't get permission to find the real father of Marco, but it certainly is not Steven or Bjorn. Helena admits to Witse that she loved Claesssens and wanted to divorce Johan. Her mother knew about this, but no-one told her father yet. Her parents knew there were problems in their marriage, but said that every marriage had their problems. They supported Johan more on that front than their daughter. Then Claesssens dies. This is strange, because he was just starting to get better. When the body is examined, it seems someone injected him pure oxygen in his blood. So he was murdered in the hospital. Karel Dubois has a weapon collection and Witse gets it examined. All 14 weapons weren't used in quite a while. Dubois says he has 15 weapons. When the team makes a reconstruction of the shooting, they come to a remarkable conclusion.
