The season began without a saboteur, De Mol. De Mol was chosen on site, in Vietnam. The candidates met and got to see if they were De Mol. They either received the message "You won't be De Mol" or "You will probably be De Mol" on a computer screen, whilst sitting in a circle and reading any calmth or nervosity from each other's face. Three candidates, as was later revealed, received the "probability" message: Bruno, Elisabet and Martijn.

The group embarks on an intensive hiking tour and completes assignments such as, while in group and forming a chain, climbing a steep hurdle covered with soap. Liesbeth was eliminated as she was the first to know the least about De Mol.
