The Red Brigades are founded in the summer 1970. This far-left terrorist organization carries out robberies, kidnappings, injuries and murders. In 1978 they kidnap and kill Aldo Moro, former Italian Prime Minister.
Since 1978, many Red Brigades' members are arrested (some of them will collaborate with investigators) and in 1988 the organization dissolves. Between 1999 and 2004, the New Red Brigades are active in Italy.
Between 1974 and 1985, seven double murder cases took place in the province of Florence. Pietro Pacciani, Mario Vanni and Giancarlo Lotti are found guilty. New investigations are ongoing in 2004.
