In Kolkata, Jane visits the colourful chaos amid the largest flower market in Asia before setting sail on the Ganges River. Stop-offs include the temple city of Kalna, and Murshidabad where she explores the grand palaces of the city and discovers a religion close to her heart, before going off the beaten the track to see some local artisans at work.
On board a luxurious cruise ship on the Ganges Jane learns how to wear a sari, and rustle up a spicy Bengal curry. In the former French colonial town of Chandannagar Jane meets a protegee of Mother Theresa. The curtain falls on her trip with an emotional visit to one of the wonders of world - the Taj Mahal.
