The town council turns against Alexis because of the high cost of his municipal activities. Is his position as mayor in jeopardy? As a widow, Délima's liquor licence is no longer valid: Jos and Caroline see it as an opportunity to get their hotel back.

A game of poker is organised at the hotel. Bidou, Wabo and Dorison play against Alexis who is desperate to win, in order to refill the town's coffers. But a high-calibre player shows up to take his place.

Délima, Alexis and Father Labelle attack Bidou to settle their scores with him. A gunfight breaks out right in the heart of the village - Séraphin uses Bidou to take back control of the North. Alexis is in anguish about the revelation made to him by Séraphin concerning his son.

Alexis's unacceptable behaviour endangers both his position as mayor and his life. Dr. Cyprien carries out emergency brain surgery on him but his chances of survival are very slim. Délima takes a heartbreaking decision: to sell her hotel to save Rosa Rose from Bidou's clutches.

Sainte-Adèle's fate is in the hands of the town council. Who will become the new mayor? The councillors have to decide between two candidates: the friend of the poor, Dr. Cyprien, or the infernal Séraphin. Meanwhile, Alexis's life continues to hang by a thread.

A battle breaks out within the council. With no compassion for the injured, Séraphin tries desperately to find out who won the election. He certainly won't let Alexis become mayor again. At the same time, Pâquerette discovers the letters Jérôme wrote to her at Donatienne's address.

Sainte-Adèle has one last hope: Oscar arrives at the town hall to stand as councillor. Donalda suffers terribly from Séraphin's evil intentions. Donatienne is devastated by Pâquerette's departure and wants to leave the village.

Séraphin a mis son plan machiavélique à exécution : reprendre l'argent de son héritage auprès de sa tante Stéphanie. Pris en flagrant délit par Alexis, son sort repose maintenant entre les mains du juge Lacasse. Toutefois, un problème tout aussi important le guette : Donalda a disparu. De plus, Séraphin doit se ressaisir, c'est soir de débat au village. Qui entre Oscar et Bidou remportera la confiance de la population pour être conseiller? La présence de monseigneur Fabre à Sainte-Adèle n'annonce rien de bon. La raison de sa visite : protéger les habitants de Sainte-Adèle des tentations du démon. Saura-t-il accomplir cette mission impossible?

Saint-Adèle accueille sa toute première mine d'or : la Laloge Gold Mining. Le marchand Lacour y investit tout son argent . Le curé Labelle y voit une occasion de donner un nouveau souffle aux Laurentides, mais peut-il vraiment faire confiance à Bidou? Donalda, attendrie par les promesses de Séraphin, reviendra-t-elle vivre chez son époux? Ce dernier refuse de laisser tomber ses accusations contre Alexis pour diffamation.

Donalda wants to entrust her illegitimate child to Donatienne, who is leaving for Montreal, never to return. Pâquerette is devastated by her departure. Meanwhile, a double wedding is held at the church, and Sainte-Adèle becomes the new honey pot in the North, thanks to its gold mine.
