Zack's advice to Shino makes him realize that he truly does love Mikazuki. With a heartfelt confession of his love, he and Mikazuki finally unlock Barbatos's Gund-Bits and so a new phase in the battle for Urdr begins.
Morgana, in a rare moment of genius, decides to hire the help of a second team named Requiem to protect him. This decision would prove to be wise as they wipe out a branch of the Iron Blooded Orphans in a decisive battle.
In a sudden shocking turn of events, a random nuclear missile falls out of orbit and hits Urdr, blowing it to smithereens and causing a massive nuclear winter. Requiem and Morgana survive, but soon learn they are not alone.
From the snow emerges Yomi. With her incredible power, she blows away Mikazuki and the Barbatos with a single whisper, and so Requiem prepares to do battle against her.
From the snow emerges Yomi 2. With her incredible power, she blows away Mikazuki the second and the Barbatos 2 with two whispers, and so Requiem 2 prepares to do battle against her.
Yomi and Yomi 2 finally implode, and so the battle for Urdr known as the Urdr Hunt continues. Requiem suddenly decides to retire to Africa to fight in a PMC group to save children by stopping war by continuing a war.
Aliens attack. It is up to the Iron Blooded Orphans, who now inexplicably have fighter planes, to stop them. They fight over the Pyramid of Urdr, with Mikazuki heroically sacrificing himself by ramming his plane into the alien mothership.
