Aspiring singer/songwriter Jesse Hemmings quits his job at the quarry to travel Nova Scotia, searching for inspiration and opportunities to perform. This week he is close to home and meets John Muirhead and his band Hush.
Jesse meets old friend Aldo Orsi and has a Eureka moment after visiting Sea Level Sound. They set off for Celtic Colours via the communities of route 348, but Aldo is abducted leaving Jesse to lament in Lochaber.
Jesse is diverted away from Cape Breton to Fall River, where he meets Dee Dee Austin. The two of them find themselves at FRSPA, where Ryan Cox tells them about the school and all three perform one of Dee Dee's songs.
Jesse still can't get to Cape Breton. Instead he bumps into renaissance man John Wesley Chisholm, who invites him to his home to talk about music and travel, and inspires Jesse to pursue his dream.
Reunited with Aldo in Parrsboro, Jesse and he head to an open mic at the Parrsboro Hall, where they meet Rob Bentley and get to perform in front of a big crowd. Aldo gives a virtuoso kazoo performance.
Jesse makes it to Celtic Colours and samples some of the cultural events like weaving and spinning, before chatting with Colin Grant before his gig in North Sydney with Hauler. Jesse then experiences Festival Club in St Ann's.
Jesse learns more about the Celtic Colours Festival through Dave Mahalik, before mask making near Cheticamp and an impromptu performance at an old quarry. Then it's time for Jesse to play at Celtic Colours in Baddeck.
