  • The List
There is a drive-by shooting on a London street which leaves journalist MOMI EL FASSAD dead; the gunman speeds off on his motorbike. PRU and her contact with Mossad YEGER inform Red Troop that the hitman is a member of a secret organisation called Zukenish. They are assassinating targets from a list of Mossad's secret agents, and this list is held by an American diplomat and double agent, ART SPELLMAN, in Hartington's bank vault. DEMPSEY asks Red Troop to go in and steal it, although if caught they stand to go to prison. All but MACALWAIN agree to do it. JOHN MAGNUSSON is an expert safe cracker and wanted thief. He's caught red-handed by RICKY, JAMIE and PETE during a break-in at a mansion; they have had him under surveillance and the robbery is a set up. They cart him off to Sterling Lines and do a deal with him. Either he helps them on the mission to retrieve The List, or they hand him and some incriminating CCTV footage over to the police. Reluctantly he agrees, although he doesn't really have a choice. Red Troop set about learning the art of safe cracking form Magnusson, in the privacy of a hangar at Sterling Lines. They experiment with thermal lances, jack hammers and diamond tipped drills. The plan is to break in through an old underground secret bunker, this should be the weakest point of the vault. Ricky and Jamie enter the vault legitimately and corrupt the security cameras, so that even when the customers have a safety deposit box open, they get a clear picture of what is going on in the vault. The next part of the plan is to disable the seismic detectors by hacking into the computer system, and at the same time by-passing the CCTV pictures that the security guards will see. Magnusson practices cracking the safe on an identical one in the hangar. It takes him over six hours, and they need to get it done in less than 60 minutes.
