Simon Banks and his son Daryl disappear from an anti-drug conference in Peru. Blair insists on going with Jim to rescue the Captain and his son, even if it means he has to jump out of an airplane and face drug runners.
When the car of Ellison's partner, who went missing a few years ago while he and Ellison were working on the kidnapping of the son of a wealthy man, is found, everyone seems hell bent on proving that he ran off with the money. Ellison believes that is not true. But an investigation reveals that Ellison could have been his accomplice and Ellison can't prove it. So he tries to find who the kidnapper is.
Simon Banks attends his high school reunion. One of his former classmates is killed with Simon's gun. Ellison and Sandburg try to solve the crime and to prevent their friend's murder.
Cascade Police tries to stop a gang war between the Yakuza and a local biker gang by hosting a summit meeting. The leader of the bikers is poisoned and the Yakuza's female lawyer is suspected. Ellison discovers she's an undercover office.
A prostitute witnesses the murder of her pimp at the hands of a hired hitman known as the Iceman. Ellison and Sandburg have to provide protection for the woman while trying to figure out which of her clients is the hitman's target.
Ellison investigates a violent carjacking ring. When he sets a trap for the perpetrators events don't go the way he expects and both Blair and his mother Naomi end up in danger.
Ellison and Major Crimes work with a replacement bomb expert investigating a series of bombings targeting black churches. Sandburg tries to help Joel Taggart, Cascade's bomb expert, who has developed a phobia about explosives.
Ellison experiences a dramatic increase in his hearing after having wax blockage removed from his ears. As a result he hears the murder of an undercover vice cop, but has difficulty in convincing the internal affairs officer.
Ellison is kidnapped by Norman Oliver, a former army intelligence officer. Sandburg and Simon Banks work together to try to locate and rescue their friend.
Blair is among a diverse group of hostages being held in a high rise elevator by a man calling himself Galileo. Galileo demands a ransom and threatens to drop the elevator cage unless it is delivered.
Naomi's psychic friend, Charlie Spring, is hired by a distraught mother to find her kidnapped child. Ellison doesn't believe that Spring has psychic abilities and doesn't want Charlie involved with this case.
Ellison and Sandburg work with a twenty year old woman who recently awoke from a ten year coma. They try to solve the murder of her parents and to help her adjust to losing ten years out of her life.
