Eight young chefs arrive at Kids Kitchen, ready to prove they've got what it takes to win their own web series on foodnetwork.com. They make a "family favorite" meal to determine teams and, later, they create their own unique street food.
The kids are given retro dishes to taste and then recreate with a modern spin. Also: they have to use Southern ingredients to cook with during a backyard BBQ challenge, judged by G. Garvin.
Robert Irvine coaches the kids as they work, together, to unscramble a recipe and then execute the dish. Later, Melissa D'Arabian is the judge for a seafood challenge.
Season 2 comes to a close with the kid chefs hosting their own food festival, during which they serve their signature dishes and perform a live demo for the crowd and judges, who include Curtis Stone, Brian Malarkey and Haylie Duff.
