George leaves with Ms. Menzies to stay at nearby Fordham. Little Fordham's owner, Mr. Pott, sees them and kidnaps them to be used as a tourist attraction. The Clocks create a hot-air balloon and escape out of a window to freedom.

Knowing they cannot go back to Little Fordham, they again take to the great outdoors. The series ends with the Borrowers sailing down the stream, and Pod says that whatever happens, there's always some way to manage.
