A new foster child named Benny arrives at the Ludwigs' grand, museum-like home, where he meets the family and explores his new surroundings. Each family member has a unique personality, from Sam, the "house professor," to Yara, who prefers her privacy. Benny is introduced to their quirky experiments and unusual routines, slowly settling into the family. However, things take a mysterious turn when the kids discover that Erik and Kate, their foster parents, have disappeared without a trace.
