Part 1: Come On In...
In Part I of Tekkin Taiyou, we meet Japan residents Bunny Oota, Jon Boyenga, and Ryan Michaels. Bunny receives a call from roommate Christian Traylor, the original person who put us in contact with the house residents. Christian states he won't be coming home that night and implies he generally prefers not to. Once Ryan arrives it's clear he and Jon have conflicting personalities and tension is already high before Ryan's cousin Joe Schmitt arrives for a planned dinner and discussion our crew wanted to film. During dinner, things escalate until Bunny comes up with a plan that involves getting Jon and Ryan into a compromising position. Once Ryan realizes what Bunny had planned chaos breaks out to end our crew's first day.

Part 2: Blood Lotus
In Part II of Tekkin Taiyou, our crew arrived at the house to find Jon had accidentally taken crucial documentation Ryan needed to present at the city office. During a call from Bunny, Jon revealed he lost everything in his bag somewhere in Akihabara. Bunny urges him to quickly find it and return, though Jon instantly becomes sidetracked in game centers. After a terrifying incident once Jon arrives back home, Bunny calls in a friend and professed therapist Chris Kidybinski to attempt to calm tensions between Ryan and Jon. Chris's earlier activity with another client causes a notorious group, the ChihasuKai, to follow him and target the house. Our camera crew was hiding anywhere we could, hoping we wouldn't be found and caught in the carnage that was coming to take revenge.

Part 3: Smiles and Tears
In Part III of Tekkin Taiyou, the invisible roommate Christian Traylor greets us on film for the first time. As Bunny and Jon battle over the limits of personal space, a mysterious otaku girl with a Banjo-Kazooie obsession appears at the door with a lost passport. Due to Christian's last minute freelance project, he asks Ryan to fill in for him and greet his friend Tej Singh, who's just arrived in Tokyo, at Takadanobaba. As Ryan took Tej with one of our film crews through the streets of Shinjuku, the second crew documented the bizarre events unfolding at the house that night. By the end of our first 3-part series, our crew ultimately was left feeling like we have more questions than answers, but then that's life in Tokyo. There's always time to revisit this one of a kind group we've come to know, love, and fear.
